Life is good but even better when you’re just returning from a little 5 day get away with the best of the best. We had a blast in South Kingston with our dear friends, the Locke’s. We were the lucky ones, joining them on their family vacation and the week couldn’t have gone smoother. The kids had a blast and I know that at least for myself, it was a joy to see the kids having so much fun together while the adults enjoyed our quiet time together after the kiddos went to bed. It was nice to relax and enjoy one another. Nice to get away. Nice to be together. We stayed busy and the week flew by. Cali held down the fort at home. Aiden and Chris are already asking to go back. Jake was a trooper and was thrilled and amused by all of the excitement. I just finished my 10th load of laundry but wouldn’t want it any other way {okay, if you twisted my arm, I wouldn’t complain about having an extra hand to get the chores done twice as fast!} We’re settling back in at home and back into our family routine but wishing we were still with friends, smelling all that the ocean winds bring in. We’re looking forward to next summer already as school is…. just…. around….. the corner!
We had perfect weather and two glorious beach days. We enjoyed 4 awesome beaches. With one day of rain, we checked out Mystic {refinanced the house but worth every penny as the kids has a blast!} The kids talked the daddies into countless fishing trips, each with small successes and HUGE smiles and fish tales to tell. Juliet and I snuck out for an awesome early morning boardwalk and the Daddies had their time on the golf course. We did crafts, played outside and vegged in front of TV. After all, that’s what vacation is all about, right?
Now back to reality, back to work and back to school in 9, yes 9 short days! I’m not so sure anyone is ready for any of this! Thank you Lockes for sharing, caring and asking us along. We couldn’t ask for better friends! oxo
