2014… Living in the present.

Happy 2014.  A new year and new beginnings!  I like to think that we are living our lives in a way that we will never need a “fresh start” but the truth is we all have our short comings.. you know, the good, the bad and the ugly…. our bad habits or dirty little secrets.  2013 was a year of great joy for our family as we welcomed our #1 little man, Jacob!  What a gift he has been as he has reminded us all to be a bit more patient and has been my encouragement to slow down and enjoy being in the moment {always an on going resolution for me!} Looking back I can now appreciate just how tender and brief each moment is as I admire my almost 5 year olds and the incredible little men they are growing to be and ohhh too quickly.

As Mike and I lay in bed last night, talking about the new year and our personal goals, my list became quite lengthy, quite quickly.  Too long and in being realistic, likely totally unattainable unless I can find a way to sneak a few more months into the year 2014.  So instead, I will scratch off my list and just work to be the best me whatever that may mean.  Each day is different and at the close of each night, I always lay awake, reliving the day and going through the good and the bad, I want to feel satisfied.  What a gift to be able to live in the present.  May the good far outweigh the bad this year and each year forth coming and may 2014 being joy, special moments, good health and the chance for everyone to enjoy and love everyone around you at every given moment.  Happy, Happy New Year!  Cheers!

Happy 2014
