My little logger, Aiden is in his glory. He came home from school yesterday to find piles of wood….You know us, always a project and if we don’t have one on our agenda, we’re looking for one! Up next is Mike’s dream to build a shed. As the boys get older, we are collectors of everything. We’ve got bikes, wagons, sporting equipment, mini-quads, a lawn mower, snow blower and outdoor furniture coming out of our ears! Really, our garage has been functioning as a storage shed and for good reason. We have stuff….. So, the solution is to create a new space to house all of these things. Mike is so excited about planning and executing and the big boys are on board and ready to help. Our first step was taking down a few trees at the front of our driveway to make space. We had a crew of five men here yesterday and within a few hours they were surrounded with every piece of machinery imaginable… four trees and about two dozen ground up stumps later and we are ready to rock and roll… No we just need to wait for the ground to thaw and the temperatures to return to normal.
Also on our calendar this week were the boys five year old check ups. Five years old. Sounds awfully big, doesn’t it? Well, it is….. and we’ve got some growing boys on our hands!
Aiden and Chris did fabulous but it was a challenge keeping all three busy and not licking cooties off the floor as we waited in a closet sized room. The good news… mission accomplished and we’re off until June! Aiden gained over 4 pounds and is now 37 pounds on the dot putting him in the 22nd% for weight! He’s 42 1/4 inches tall and in the 31st%! Big news for us….. And Chris, while he might be a bit smaller is doing just as great! He’s 35 pounds and in the 9% for weight and 41 3/4 and in the 22% for height. These boys mean business and are eating like machines and growing like weeds! We’ll be headed back in June for a retest of Chris’s right eye. He didn’t want to cooperate last year and this year was a bit off. Fingers and toes crossed that he’s got my eyes, not Mikes!
On a sillier note, it would not have been any funnier to the boys when the pediatrician had to peak down their underpants. Giggles galore and it only intensified when she said how they had been feeling and if they had been pooping regularly. I was that Mom that was bright red and for good reason. Potty words are a HOT topic in this house. Hoping we’re not the only ones!
Big news on the horizon for Jake. His second tooth broke through this morning! He’ll be gnawing into corn in no time! He is also standing unassisted for up to 30 seconds. He continues to be a big time “swiper,” quickly learning that the boys have now moved their precious jewels to the top of Aiden’s bed. He adores looking out the window and I can only imagine that he’s got big plans for when he gets outside and rules the yard this summer. Such a big boy and in the blink of an eye!
