The moments

It’s amazing how quickly our lives fill with busyness.  It seems like just yesterday we were enjoying regular weekly play dates with several groups of friends, keeping our weeks exciting.  Fast forward five years and it takes weeks to coordinate one day to meet up with old friends.  This week we were excited to meet up with an old time play date friend.  The boys have all grown so much and both of us have gone on to expand our families but its still so nice to get together and catch up.  The boys had a blast with Calvin, Tristan and Eloise.  We visited the library, caused some havoc and made it home for Jake’s 15 minute afternoon nap!

Our big highlight of the week was our trip to Boston.  Our precious nieces turned two on Friday and yesterday we celebrated.  They could not be any sweeter and our big boys just adore Ivy and Rose.  Jacob adoringly looks on.

Knowing how Jake despises long car rides, we planned a day of it. We got an early start and were in Boston by 10:45.  We coordinated our departure with Jake’s morning nap and the ride down was a breeze.  We hoped on the “T”, the highlight of our city time for Aiden and Chris.  We checked out Faneil Hall and enjoyed the amazing food.  A $9 ice cream for Aiden and a special lobster lollypop for Chris that got all of 10 licks before hitting the ground.  You can imagine the tears. At least the sun was shining and we were together.  It was the perfect day to be walking around.  Jake is a people watcher and delighted in all of the happenings.  We were lucky to see a fantastic street performer that really caught the boys attention.  City life is fun and the boys were intrigued.  We walked in circles and found ourselves back at the T station just in time to hop on and head back to Jamaica Plains for the birthday party.  It was a delightful day.  There’s nothing better than spending time with family and enjoying the company of one another.

After some play time and cake, we headed home just in time for bed {the trip home being not so quiet…}.  It was  a day to remember!  Happy, happy birthday to two amazing little ladies who are growing up before our eyes.  We love you Rose and Ivy!

Below is Ivy and Jake.  We weren’t able to sneak a birthday picture of the two little ladies unfortunately…
