Spring

It wouldn’t be spring without a good old dose of poison ivy, thankfully I’ve started the season with a mild case.  As always, it seems to sneak out of no where and with the boys in the woods 24-7, this Momma is going to get her fair share, I’m certain!

So aside from itching and whining, I do love this time of the year.  No bugs, cool, comfortable temperatures and signs of life popping up everywhere.  What’s not to love!  Doesn’t everything feel so fresh?  I also love the burst of energy that comes with the renewed greenery.  I don’t know about you but once the snow melts, my project lists grow longer and longer and in May, well I’ve still got lots of excitement and the desire to get them done.  August… well, that’s another story.  If we’re being honest, I hate to sweat.  Not sure why.  Perhaps it’s because I don’t love showers {I promise you I take one daily regardless} and I don’t like getting wet.  Mom, anything from my childhood I should know about?  Just teasing…..

Along with the warmer weather comes the arrival of my first little nephew and as we start to count down the months, Laura’s shower preparations are underway.  I’ve been saving ideas for years.  Unfortunately I’m not kidding and I’ve got plenty of “to-do’s” to keep me excited and busy….. The invites are my project this week and then my fabulous Mom and I are going to put our creative hats on and finalize the décor and menu.  I can not wait….. Stay tuned for pictures and details at the end of June.  I’ll be busy crafting until then.

And as for the house project I mentioned a few posts back.  Well here it is…. Notice anything new?

Out with the old and in with the new.  Our brick got a face lift!  Three coats of paint later and our once school house red middle is now a creamy white and I am oh so pleased.  I haven’t like that brick since day 1.  Year seven and it’s finally gone.  One project down, too many left to count!  What do you think of our new look?
