You’ve probably guessed, but I’ve been slightly distracted. Getting back into my groove at school has been consuming much of my free time {by my over achiever choice}. I can say that I love being back at school although I am not loving the professors teaching style. I am giving it 100% and already getting antsy to have
a better balancemy life back. I do love learning but can becoming obsessive as poor Mike and the boys have learned. My mind is constantly floating around with real estate terminology, pathetic eh? But, I have been making it a point to soak up this fall sunshine because by the time my class comes to a close, so will the beauty of this season. Four classes down, 12 to go… But who’s counting?!?So here we are. An amazing fall weekend. I spent yesterday afternoon hiking with the boys, Mike and brother in law, Andrew who is up visiting from Boston. We have a favorite short hike at Northwest Park that leads to Rainbow Reservoir and is the perfect distance with the perfect distractions for the little guys. The weather was incredible and the trees are all just starting to change. A missed opportunity on my part for some incredible pictures…. Shame on me but I did sneak a few IPhone shots.
I snuck home just in time to scoot out to meet my friends Leeanne and Leora and poor Heather {who we failed to communicate with properly} for a walk. It was an A+ kind of night. I headed home to spend some kid-less time catching up with Mike and Andrew and stayed up just late enough to feel it all day today. A true sign that I am indeed getting OLD!
This morning the boys had a soccer match and Uncle Andrew went along to cheer. Its always a win with lots of energy burned and everyone's a winner with a tie game. After lunch we all packed up and headed for a hike up Deer Run at Sunrise Park, another favorite adventure. We were hoping to pick up with a geocache that runs along that trail but we headed in the wrong direction and didn’t have the flexibility with Jake’s nap schedule to switch our game plan. Darn those naps. We had one very disappointed Mr. Aiden and one over compensating Mr. Chris. After the hike and some more time visiting, Uncle Andrew headed home and got a few chores done around the house before calling it a night.
Our weeks seem to be passing in super speed. Aiden and Chris are still truly loving school. There seems to be a happy trend as they continue to share stories about their day and come home excited, happy and tired. They both received with first take home homework assignment this week and were “excited” to do it {a moment that has to be recorded for sure!}
Jake and I have been keep ourselves occupied outside as much as possible. We ventured to Northwest Park mid-day Thursday and had a blast. We have been sneaking in some chores, appointments and errands but I am truly trying to make it a point to enjoy my time with him. As you can see from the pictures below, he’s in his glory being the “man of the house” while the rest are away and I am enjoying learning just how his little mind works when it’s not totally influenced by older brothers by his side. This week he has taken a liking to saying “thank you” and he uses it quite appropriately. I adore his little voice and those thank you’s…… well, I melt. He’s
learninglearned and this Momma is in trouble!Can you tell that I’m usually chasing him from behind?!?
