And then he was 18 months

Our Jacob turned 18 months old today.  To think that a year and a half ago he was a quiet, cuddly 6.5 pound infant.

Fun facts about our busy little beaver….

Nicknames: JJ, Jakey, Buddy, Bobo (to date he has referred to himself as JJ)

Weight: 22ish pounds

Height: If he stood still long enough, I would tell you!

Teeth: Two on top and 3 on the bottom

Loves: Running, climbing, puddles, other children, food, cell phones, his nuk {pacifier}, sewer drains, Tractors and machinery, balls, wearing shoes and pumpkins

Dislikes: Baths and showers

Sleeps: With his soft blue puppy blanket, a nuk and a sound machine.  He still takes two-one hour naps a day and sleeps 6:45/7 pm - 5:45/6:30am

Favorite animals: Ducks, bugs/beetles, our Cali cat, fish

Hobbies: Pushing anything, collecting beetles and bugs and dumping things out, brushing teeth, flipping light switches & sharing kisses ON THE lips.

Words spoken often: Food, Apple, cheese, whatsit? {sounding like oh shit}, Momma {on repeat and now referring to Mike as well}, Dadda, Dziadzu, AD {for Aiden}, (still uses sign language for more and all done), please, thank you, doggie and this weeks new word {just in time for the season} chocolate!

Food weaknesses: Anything candy or chocolate, apples, cheese sticks, garlic hummus and greek yogurt

Beverage of choice: Anything in a juice box with a straw that can quickly get messy

Favorite movie: Baby Einstein

Working on: Acquiring patience, sleeping through the night, feeding himself without requiring a complete kitchen clean up.

Jake is very routine.  He is a busy boy, always on the move and always trying to keep up with his older brothers.  He loves trouble and seems to find it where ever he goes.  He can make a room look like it was hit by a tornado in less than 3 minutes flat.  He loves to play clean up “games{aka my suckered in helper}.”  He is always willing to do anything to catch the attention of everyone around him.  He flourishes when he’s got one on one time.  He’s a climber with no obstacle to lofty in his mind.  He loves his food but is very particular and learning to wait for the offer of sweet treats, food left around my unassuming brothers or random crumbs on the floor, thus avoiding the foods he should be eating.

And tonight we celebrated with velvet whoopie pies that Aiden and I made and a homemade birthday hat created with love by Chris and for some reason, this silly boy chose a cut up apple over our indulgent dessert!

Ps – On a side note.  Aiden and Chris choose to get hot lunch for the first time Thursday.  They were SO excited and chose to wait for a lunch day that served hotdogs.  I feel gross just talking about it and look forward to more days packing PB &J.

And… on the same day I got the first “Ya know Mom, you really don’t have to wait for the bus with us, some of the other kids on the bus wait alone”  Am I that embarrassing already?!?  I thought I was doing alright…I promise I shower and dress before heading out each day.  Five going on ten I tell ya!

Here is Chris in his glory playing outside (L) and Aiden (R), the proud recipient of two good behavior awards at school!
