The boys

Take a look at these little hams at our Thanksgiving Day celebration, Ptaszynski style.  How cute are they?!?  And yes, Aiden and Chris dress themselves with NO say from Mike and I!

This year our hunt to find the ultimate tree took on a bit of a different course.  I am that lady who wants a tree round, full, straight, alive and well.  And well, it typically takes some time to hunt for that tree.  Aiden and Chris had a sleep over in Belchertown last night and Grammie and Dziadzu brought them home today with the game plan that they would join us for the sleigh ride and tree hunt, bringing one home for themselves as well.  Sounds great, doesn’t it?!?  Well, we weren’t the only ones with that master plan today.  As a matter of fact, we were among the hundreds…. all at the same farm.  Seriously!  We’re talking five times the crowd we’re used to.  In light of the cold weather and afternoon naps, we cut our losses and headed to a local “pre-cut” stand.  It’s been that type of year and I agreed without hesitation.  It’s safe to say that will be a first and last for this family.  We have by far the most expensive miniature little tree with a crooked top.  The tree is slightly taller than the boys and seriously didn’t have enough branches to hold any ornaments for Mike or I.  Seriously, a bitsy little 20 strand light  and we were good to go.  Not me but as Mike reminded the boys, the smaller the tree, the more room there is for presents and after all, someone had to bring that tree home to be loved, right?  Well here she is in all her glory.

And Jake, well, he’s got his work cut out for him, or perhaps I do as he loves to “undress” the tree over and over and over again.  Maybe smaller is better!

Oh, the dreaded tree hunt. I'm also the neurotic perfect tree hunter. Good for you for going with the flow. This year I had to settle for a fake tree. It may be the perfect shape but I do miss the imperfection of the real deal.
