We have two eager readers on our hands as the Suffield Public Schools have done a fantastic job encouraging a love for sounds, words and books. The school has a great program that involves reading at home and incentives for completing desired levels. Our boys are highly motivated by incentives and have really picked up on reading quickly. They are so eager to share their reading skills with any listening ears and we are so proud. On occasion, we have wondered just how much is reading and how much is memorization but its progress none the less. They have learned to use the pictures on the page for cues and Aiden proudly announced as he read at home last night that he can “read with his eyes closed.” Hummmm…..
Jake is smart as can be. He loves being outside and misses swings, exploration and bugs. While I’m still in disbelief that it is nearly February, the thought of spring is irresistible. I find myself slowly perusing the floral aisle with each grocery store visit. It’s dangerous. A weakness and thankfully Jake doesn’t rat me out when a plant or two happens to end up in my cart. I think we’re all ready to see the flowers peaking out, hear the birds chirping and experience a day or two when thermal undies aren’t a necessity.
We are moving slowly on the home front. The sellers agent on our new house is still less than cooperative. We are sitting tight as our initial closing was scheduled for two weeks from tomorrow. We still have many items we are waiting on but we’re hopeful that once we can get heat on, things will move quickly. Fingers crossed. I’ll keep you posted.
