Can is really be the start of July this week? WOW! This is my last final week off before I start back to work part time next week. I would like to say that I am going to relax and enjoy but somehow I managed to book an appointment almost everyday this week! One way to turn bad news into good news is to realize that it is going to rain so I might as well book myself now and get it out of the way so we can have free time to get out and enjoy the sunshine once it finally shows up! It will show up eventually, right???
Last week we had a great week. Mikes and my time of both being home is slowly winding down. Mike continues to pursue a new job opportunity and we hope to have some have some answers about what direction that lead may take early this week. Like all unemployed people, Mike is very anxious to get started!
Thursday we had a great visit with Suzy, Sophie, April & Jenna. Mike always enjoys teasing the girls and getting them riled up then sending them home :) Sorry Suzy! As you may know from my previous post, Thursday afternoon we toured the outside of the Extreme Home Makeover house in Suffield which was quite the adventure. Thursday night, Grammie & Grandpa Hopkins stopped over for a belated Fathers Day celebration. The boys loved entertaining them and it was so nice to see them and catch up.
Friday we had a nice, quite low key day and attempted to get out to enjoy some sunshine. Unfortunately we were about as far from the house as we could have been when the skies opened up and the down pour started! One upside of Mike being laid off is that he was able to save the day and came to pick us up as we hid under a tree, trying to stay dry! Opps, I guess that was a bad call on my part and the weather man's. So much for depending on the hour by hour forecast!
Saturday the boys and I met Juliet & Livia at Robinson State Park in Agawam. We had the perfect weather and a great day. Again, the hour by hour looked scary but we really lucked out so what do they know?!? We went for a great walk and had a good time catching up... well at least the mommies did!
Today we were finally able to get out for the Fathers Day bike ride. The weather was perfect and the boys were great sports. We went to the Windsor Locks Canal again and did the 9 mile loop. We also decided to check out an open house in Suffield mainly for curiousitys sake. It was a quaint little farm house that had been "renovated" but still needed a lot of work and TLC. It's always fun to be nosy though :) Auntie Laura moved in today and starts her new job at Hartford Hospital tomorrow so we wish her luck! The boys are thrilled already to have another pair of open arms.
Our visitors this week were: Auntie Laura/Uncle Tommy, Karen/Jeff/Elliot, Steph/Phil, Tanya/Gary, Gina/Adam, Uncle Andrew, Grammie/Grampa Hopkins, Suzy/Sophie/April/Jenna, Juliet/Livia.
