Story time
It has been a cold start to the week but despite the rain on Sunday, we have still been out enjoying the fresh, crisp air! It is officially December and feeling more and more like Christmas. My Christmas cards are almost all done as is my holiday shopping, yippee! Next I hope to slowly put out a few decorations each night after the boys are in bed. I LOVE decorating but plan to keep it simple this year. Less decorations means less dusting and less to put away in a few weeks.
Mike and I have been debating about whether to get a Christmas tree or not, our biggest issue being space and safety with the boys. So.... what I proposed is to get a tree for our back porch that we can light up for the boys to enjoy. We decided that given our budget we would find out in the woods but believe it or not, we are still on the hunt because there is not one evergreen tree in our woods! Can you believe our property abuts a conservation area with no evergreens?!? I was shocked! With the holiday last week we weren't able to keep up with our usual weekly get together with other mommies and baby friends but this week we are back in full swing. It was great to catch up with our friends Caroline and Mathieu yesterday morning and we are looking forward to seeing our friends Megan and Calvin at the end of the week. We also got to visit with Leeanne on Monday night which was fun!
The boys have been very interested in one another lately, specifically in pulling themselves up on each other, eating misc limbs of the other and stealing toys. They are getting great with fine motor skills and have no problems putting small items in their mouths. They also love to hear their voices and explore their lips and tongues. Everyday is certainly a new adventure!
I do have one story to share this week... It was a Mommy moment. Yesterday afternoon the boys and I packed up for our usual afternoon walk. I had spent a portion of their nap cleaning and organizing the fridge and I had a HUGE coffee creamer bottle to recycle. Our recycle bin was at the end of our driveway ready for pickup this morning so I decided to multi-task. I figured why not load the recyclable into the front of a car seat and drop them off in the bin on our way for a walk. The only problem being that I forgot to drop them off! Several regular walkers smiled and grinned as we walked by but I thought little off it until I stopped to check on the boys and realized that Chris had been carrying along a new token teether, a huge coffeemate creamer container! I guess that will confirm for the people we pass that I get my energy from caffeine!
