As always, the weekend comes and goes all too quickly and phew was it cold! I told Mike I was tempted to go to bed with a hat and mittens last night because sweats, long underwear, a down comforter AND a quilt just weren't cutting it. As I mentioned mid-week, spring is around the corner... 58 days and counting! At least thats what I keep telling myself to feel better. Woo hoo! I love New England but the cold can stay outside please :)
Auntie Laura came to visit late Wednesday night so when the boys woke up Thursday morning, they enjoyed their "surprise" visitor. We had a fun morning playing and enjoying Aunties company before she had to head out. Thursday night Mike worked late so I packed the boys up and headed to Grammie and Dziadzu Pt's for a change of pace. We hadn't seen GG Mimi in a while so it was a great visit and Chris was tickled pink to have Grammie and Dziadzu's kitty, Crammer sit in his lap! Talk about making his day!
Friday we hung outside and avoided the snowy mess that quickly accumulated AGAIN! We actually didn't have much of a choice because we were waiting to be plowed out. I did enjoy some grown up time that evening with my friend Leeanne. We went to see the movie "No Strings Attached." Such a great flick and a relaxing night. It proved to be a bit of a challenging getting out of my own driveway but once I was on my way, I was thrilled and had a great time.
Yesterday we headed out to run some errands with the boys in the morning. A & C love shopping and I love getting out when we have Daddy's help. We got a special cake pan for their birthday and went for a quick trip to Costco and the auto store. After nap, Mammie & Grandpa Hopkins came for a visit as well as Uncle Andrew and Melissa, his girlfriend. We loved having company and enjoyed catching up. A & C were in their glory and loved the visitors. Grammie & Dziadzu came later yesterday afternoon to watch A & C so that Mike and I could go out. We went to an awesome dinner party at our friends; Caroline and Rob's new house. They have been working on renovating a home for over a year so it was great to see all that they have done and how beautiful it turned out. We loved the company and enjoyed ourselves so much that it quickly became a late night without our knowledge!
Today we are headed to Grammie and Dziadzu's again. Hopefully they aren't on twin overload. Our family friend Karen is going to be over so we didn't want to miss out on the fun. We are excited to have something to look forward to end the weekend.
This has been a big week of kitchen help for the boys. They LOVE helping to cook/mix, etc. They want to be a part of everything which is fun but messy. We have made 3 kinds of bread, a few desserts, pudding and jello. What a great time it is to see them enjoy the new experiences so much. We are hoping the snow will behave so we can enjoy our plans for the week ahead. Man, only 3 more weeks until my munchkins turn 2! Woo hoo! Party planning, here I come! They put in a special request for a "choo choo party."
