Well mother nature has been busy again! Suffield reports say 15.5 inches of snow from last night alone and a record for the month of January. Good old Bob Maxon from Channel 4 news was saying that we have received about 55 inches of snow in January alone, as compared to an entire winter average being only 40-50 inches! Phew, I guess that official means that we are buried! Now if only I enjoyed skiing....
Bob Maxon said it nicely when he said that ever possible storm has HIT so far this year and hit big time. I guess that just makes each week more and more exciting. What will February and March hold?
I was busy last night, wrapped up in catching up on a few projects, one being a special birthday gift that I am making for the boys. I am a dork and did a "practice round" last night but I am so excited with the outcome and can't wait to post a few pics in a few weeks after their birthday. The boys chose a train themed birthday. Surprising with their current tractor obsession but fun none the less. I have had a blast brainstorming and internet surfing for ideas. Oh the possibilities! Now if only we could invite you all! We have decided to have another low key year and are keeping the celebration really small. Just immediate family makes 19 and a houseful! We will be saving for those days when the boys get older and begin to know the difference. In the meantime, we will be sure to share the highlights for anyone interested.
Wow, we have a noisy house! The boys are talking non-stop. They are getting good at using their manners and really get excited to say new words. We try to chose one new word a day to work on and so far so good. On Monday, I was enjoying a bananas for breakfast and they came over and pointed and said "hot dog." Close in shape and size but thankfully I wasn't eating a hot dog for breakfast! They are also saying "car, owl, otter & frog."
Knowing the snow was coming, we tried to schedule our get togethers for earlier this week. Our plans with Caroline and Mathieu were postponed because Mathieu wasn't feeling well. On Tuesday Mammie Hopkins came and the boys were busy singing and building many things with their blocks. Yesterday morning we had a fun date with baby Ashley, Steph, Calvin and Megan. We love having people to our house and love people willing to put up with our craziness!
Today Mike is stuck at home for a bit while we wait to be plowed out. We aren't complaining and are hoping to get outside to play in the snow for a while.
