Little Compton, RI

The gang - Take 1

Fun with the gang

My amazing in-laws

Aiden standing tall.

My little men. (A, L and C, R) I loved this photo spot in case you haven't noticed already!

Aiden found my small travel camera and was having a blast. He actually takes a decent picture every once in a while too!

Aiden showing Chris how to use MY camera!

Silly boy, Aiden.

My mother in law, Grandma Tag and Mr. Wonderful (have to kiss up since we celebrate our 4th anniversary this week! Gosh, do I love him though...)

Serious work. This is Aiden with the vacation the truck that be picked out as his treat for the week.

Chris keeping warm Mamie & Grandpa take on the waves with A & C.

We mean business when we are at the beach! Chris. Probably the best nap he took all week although it was at 4 pm and only lasted 2 min.

Aiden, Ditto.

They were getting a bit sick of all of the pictures and Aiden wasn't able to hide it well. We'll work on that :)

Chris managed to squeeze out a cheesy smile for me.

Highlights of our trip:

- Amazingly fun and easy going company!

- Many willing hands to help with A & C and so much love and patience to go around when times got tough.

- Gorgeous weather.... Thunderstorms one night but perfectly sunny skies and mid-70 temps EVERY day!

- Amazing location. Ocean views from ALL windows in the huge, beautiful house we stayed in.

- Delicious food and many, many treats

- Easy car ride even with a broken DVD player for the entire ride up! (We learned and quickly reinvested in a new one for the ride home)

- Private beach club that was quiet and indeed private and super close to the house.

- Discovery of the gorgeous town of Little Compton, RI and all of the charm of a country setting ON the ocean. Could life be any better? I am saving for my dream home someday (although likely to only be in my dreams...)

- New memories and fun times with the best of the best family!

Unforgettable stories:

-The nap when painting with poopy diapers was discovered. Enough said.

- The nap when A & C together figured out how to open the window in their 2nd story bedroom, push out the screen and managed to throw every diaper out of their window along with their treasured "Ollie" stuffed dogs and blankets. Chris was in the process of leaning out the window to save this blanket which was stuck on the lower roof top as Carol and I entered the room. How you might ask? And where were all of the adults? Thankfully Uncle Jerry was just arriving and caught them in the act. I was listening to them on the monitor but was excited that for once, they were happy. It had been a long week of boycotting anything to do with sleep and being in their bedroom alone. Uggh.... I am thinking it might be time to invest in a video monitor. Heart attack take 1.

- Another nap with a "painting" incident only this time they were smart enough to place the dirty diaper along with its contents into the trash can for us. How considerate.

- The boy naps were fun. Incident 4 - I heard laughter over the monitor and had learned from the window incident so I peered inside their room to find that they had brought their trash can across their room, turned it upside down, used it as a step stool to climb ON TOP of their bureau and were "cannon bombing" onto their mattress. Really? Heart attack take 2.

So aside from the lack of sleep, vacation was truly relaxing, amazing and unforgettable. We are spoiled to have such amazingly loving, generous and supportive families and we love everything about them! Here are a few of my final vaca pictures to share.
