So I have exhausted my camera on vacation and haven't picked it up since. Pictures to come for my next post I promise.

It's been a great week! We celebrated the 4th on Sunday with Grammie, Dziadzu, Auntie Laura, Eric, Aunt Kathy and Uncle Joe. The boys were in great spirits and loved being at Grammie and Dziadzu's. We enjoyed a colorful, wonderful meal while A & C were happy to provide us with non-stop entertainment. A + type of day!
Life is a challenge and I am not referring to Mike and I. The most common used phrase in our household is "You do it. No, you do it DD. repeat... repeat...repeat..." (DD is their nickname for each other and is used interchangeably) I guess this does present a new challenge for Mike and I as our dynamic duo challenge each other to anything and everything from couch jumping to; stealing a sip of a drink they know they shouldn't; to opening the front door and attempting to make a quick get away. Life is fun:)
Monday we had a wonderful, relaxing day. The weather was gorgeous and it was just what we needed. Mike and I are working on a new wood working project that I hope to have finished up soon so I will post a picture when I can. We made great process on Monday and I am very excited about it!
Mamie came on Tuesday and reported that the boys were great for her. I think they struggled to get back into a routine after an extended vacation but I know they loved their time with Mamie and had a blast swimming, walking and playing outside. It was actually nice to be back at work with Mike and great to be back into a routine. I think we all thrive on routines in this household.
This morning we had an early playdate and were excited to catch up with Birthday Boy Calvin who turned 2 today and baby Ashley and of course the moms. There is nothing like cupcakes and sweet treats at 8 am to keep the kiddos wired and happy. Again, great to be back into our routine and so nice to catch up with our friends. After the play date I was trying to be good and beat the heat so I took the boys to the playground only to find that everything was already too hot to use, even at 10 am! So, game plan 2 - we headed to Northwest Park and enjoyed some shade there and played in the barn and around the grounds. It was a great time and Aiden and Chris were great listeners. We headed home and Dziadzu came to babysit for a while so I could go for a dental cleaning. I am sure most of you know my dental history so I was thrilled to hear that I only have one filling that needs to be replaced but was also told that I am brushing too hard and need to lighten up before I cause gum issues. I guess I was under the impression that the harder I brushed, the cleaner it got my teeth. Ooops... just happy to know now! Tonight I am super excited to be catching up with my friend Leeanne and hope to enjoy a walk and treat ourselves to some ice cream after. Yum!
Stay cool and enjoy the truly summer, summer weather!
