Secrets

    Anyone want a Christmas delivery?

Chris is willing to sing you his new favorite Christmas song “Jingle Balls……” I almost died laughing when I heard his version!

Christmas came early this year in our house.  On Tuesday while Mike and I were at work, Mamie was busy with Aiden and Chris shopping for Christmas surprises for us. She brought them to Bon Ton and let them pick out something that they thought we each might enjoy. When we arrived home Aiden and Chris could barely contain their excitement as they squealed with delight “Daddy, come open up the truck we bought you.” “Mommy, come look at the kitty we got you.”  We tried to remind them that Christmas presents are a surprise and should be saved for the special day but there was no convincing to be done.  We didn’t stand a chance.  They had their minds made up and were already unwrapping the presents.  What a surprise that Mike got a truck.  A red, remote control one that the boys picked out because it looked just like Daddy’s old truck that we donated last year.  Can you guess what I got? You’ve got it…. a set of white ceramic “Cali Kitties” from Chris and some “garlic hummus spreaders” (Christmas spreaders) from Aiden.  They both also picked out spatula’s in their favorite colors for me. How lucky are we? It was quite a way to start the holiday celebrations and couldn’t have been cuter as they both picked out their favorite things for us.

Mamie also brought A & C to visit Grandpa at work on Tuesday where they delivered Hershey Kisses to Grandpa’s co-workers.  They got quite a kick out of their days adventures and had many stories to share.

On Monday, the boys and I went for a walk in the late afternoon, realizing that winter is officially here as it took us an hour to thaw out afterward.  Its amazing how quickly it got cold as the sun went down.  The boys decided that we had some lawn work to be done, including of course some mowing so they were “busy at work” for much of the afternoon.

Today we were thrilled to meet up with Ashley, Calvin, Megan and Steph at Northwest Park.  Its been a while since we were all together so it was fun to catch up and so nice to be out enjoying the sunshine and warmth. After lunch the boys and I walked to the library and stopped to talk to some new friends who live along the way.  I love that we have friendly faces when we were out and about and ironically, the gentleman stopped me commenting that he remembered me walking everyday when the boys were babies and can’t believe how they’ve grown.  We chatted for a while, met his kids and dog and headed home before dark.

Tomorrow I am super excited for a Christmas chocolate party with some of my lady friends. In the meantime, I am off to work on my chocolate creation to share for tomorrow nights festivities.

To the left is some of our fun at Northwest Park.  We had 3 happy boys with a huge pile of leaves and an endless supply of sticks!
