Hate is a strong word.  One I try to refrain from using… One that I save for special occasions…. like when it comes to furry friends.  If you know me, you know that hate mice! Yes, hate!  Let me tell you about my “horror” Monday night.  Mike’s friend Joe was over and they were relaxing on the back porch.  It was 9:30, the house was quiet, the boys sound asleep and I was scurrying running around trying to wrap up a few things before heading to bed.  {Even the word scurrying gives me the heebie jeebies as it reminds me of mice}.  As I headed toward our bedroom to get a load of laundry, I found Cali playing in the hallway.  At first glance I wasn’t certain whether she had found a moth or a baby frog to play with but she was quite content.  At second glance, I felt confident that it was a frog and put my laundry basket down in an attempt to pick him up and let him outside.  {Not sure what was going through my mind when considering picking up a frog.}  The critter had hidden itself under the front door sweep so I move the door, moved in and gave myself a mini heart attack at I realize this was no frog.  It was a baby mouse friend.  Uggh… Knowing that it was inches from my bedroom and knowing Mike wouldn’t hear me even if I screamed, I grabbed the laundry basket and quickly put it on top of this furry friend with some pressure.  Lets just say the furry friend is no longer.  I have goose bumps just writing about it and probably shouldn’t admit this but I thought it was blog worthy.  It’s safe to say I have musophobia.  I am sure you don’t have to look that one up to know what I am talking about…..

“nego-tave…” The word of the day and Chris’s answer when I asked him if he wanted to use my bathroom while the other was occupied by his better half. He repeated it 3 times until I finally asked him what it meant. “No” he replied in a tone that showed just how foolish I was for not knowing myself.  And then it all made sense.  I asked if he wanted to use my bathroom… his reply negative.  I think I have a mini-Mike on my hands.  My mother in law has warned me!

We have a busy end of the week and I am beyond excited to be going away with some of my favorite ladies to Maine.  Just the ladies….  Kid, husband, house and worry free and I can’t wait!

A & C

{And sometimes you just need a squeeze or a built in best friend to make it all worthwhile….}
