We wrapped up a busy week. A fun play, swim and lunch date with our friends Mathieu, Caroline and Alex and a bittersweet get together with our friends the Ryan’s who will be starting their new adventure in California…. next week! Aiden and Chris love their friend Elliot and will miss him dearly, as we will likewise miss their entire family. We wish them the very best and went to their house to wish them well. Aiden and Chris are comparing Cali to heaven and while it might be heavenly, we had to explain that not everyone who goes away ends up in Heaven with their kitty buddy Crammer. They also enjoyed their first geography lesson as we showed them where we live, where Elliot would be moving and of course answered their 20 questions.
I am confident that we would all agree that this was a weekend worthy of repeating and remembering. Daddy held down the fort and kept out little men well loved, busy and under control while I played hooky. Yes, hooky. It does the body good and there is nothing more satisfying that a weekend away with 6 amazing women. Sure it rained, okay it POURED but it gave us an even better opportunity to sit around, catching up and chatting about both the big and little things that life can throw your way. The sun peeked out enough for us to wander to the pool not once but twice. We enjoyed Wells, York and Kennebunk Port, Maine all in one weekend. I came home renewed, excited to see my 3 amazing men and ever more thankful for the wonderful family that I had to greet me. There is no greater feeling than to have little men showering you with “saved hugs, lots of kisses and cuddles.”
The three men went on two fishing adventures, out to breakfast and moved their planned camping adventure with Grandpa indoors due to in climate weather and possible leaky tents. That had a ball. They laughed, swam and did boy things. I love that I have a man amazing enough to pull this off and still greet me smiling, encouraging me to enjoy my weekend and stay as long as I want. I am blessed. And I hope the ladies will be excited and encouraged enough to want to start planning next years 3rd annual ladies getaway!
