It is so easy to get swept away in blog land. Lost in the possibilities of new recipes, craft projects or DIY inspiration. If only we could find a way to magically gain a few hours each night for these sorts of adventures. With school starting, the afternoon/evenings have been filled with preparations, clean up and special moments trying to enjoy the boys. So my nightly surfing may be slowing but it’s a good thing for mobile phones and random quiet moments waiting for the kiddos to be released from school. It’s also a good thing when I can sneak in a few minutes to blog because god only knows that this old memory of mine lasts no longer than a few seconds at most these days!
The first day of school went well. We had been “pumping” it up for the last few days and the boys woke up excited but testy. They were anxious {as was I} and used to the leisurely summer mornings. While I am sad to see them grow, I am so proud of the young men they are becoming. I LOVED my morning time with Jake. We explored the streets of West Hartford and he got in a great morning nap while I walked around enjoying the Q… U… I…E…T that I so longed for. Today {day two} we met friends that are classmates of Chris’s and had company exercising. What a difference it makes in how you feel when you can exercise and get some fresh air.
My hips are crying these days as I hop out of bed and start my day. Perhaps its old age, who knows but my hips have been bothering me since Jake was born. I was oh so thankful to Mamie who took Aiden and Chris this afternoon so I could get in to get things checked out. I’ll hear back on some x-rays in the coming days but can’t thank Mamie enough for coming to my rescue. I’m not sure how I would have survived two hours with the three kiddos alone in a 2x2 waiting room. Here’s to hoping there are some answers or improvements in the weeks to come at least :)
