Three little men

Sporting their “Big Bro”, “Little Bro” shirts from littlest to biggest … The Jakster, Chrissy & ADSept 1, 2013 016

Our little man is growing up WAY too quick.  Isn’t that always the case?!?  Tomorrow he will be 20 weeks old.  He’s full of smiles and is happiest when busy.  His latest trick…… flipping from back to front to entertain himself.  His favorite time for his new activity?  Preferably 2-3 am with squeals of delight to accompany his accomplishments.  He’s proud and wants to make sure Mommy and Daddy know it!  While he’s still just a little squirt, he is a delightful little one.  Full of spunk and looking more and more like his big brothers everyday.

School is going well.  We’re into week two and so far complaint free!  Aiden has a new assistant, Ms. Heather that he is quite fond of {truly is “his type”
… tall, blond and seems sweet}  Chris has a new classmate that he likes to come home talking about.  Most likely because his stories of this new classmate make him look like he’s heaven sent.  Apparently the new guy in class is full of trouble.  Chris has some competition.  They are both excited about learning and coming home with new skills that they’ve learned.  We’re off to a great start!

Aiden is savin mavin.  I couldn’t be more proud.  He’s worked hard since we returned from Rhode Island to save enough money to buy a shark he has been hoping for.  Thirteen dollars of hard earned money.  Earned quarter by quarter, day by day.  He’s swept, he’s folded laundry, cleaned the bathroom sinks, vacuumed, weeded, hauled firewood.  He’s a man after my own heart and he’s made me one proud Momma…..  Now to work on teaching Chris the value of a dollar and encourage him along with chores.

We had a slam dunk weekend, meeting up with our friends Adam and Gina on Saturday.  We loved seeing them and the boys had a ball checking out Sonny’s place in Somers, CT.   Sonny’s place is a gamers dreamland and brought me back to feelings of vacation bliss.  From bowling to arcade games, mini golf, batting cages, go-karts and ice cream.  It’s a kids dream and we all so enjoyed the company of the VanWingerdens as we checked out this world of fun!  We were also thrilled to meet our friends the Ryan’s after church on Sunday.  Coming all the way from sunny CA, the boys were giddy with excitement at the sight of one of their very best long distance friends, Elliot.  They ran, they played, they giggled and they settled right back into their friendship.  It was adorable to see and Mike and I were also so thrilled to see their family and catch up.  Now, Karen to get you to move back……

I’m a woman of routine, still working to find a new schedule that will work for everyone.  Jake continues to boycott afternoon naps and baulks at the thought of sleeping through the night.  I am squeezing in some hours working from home when all are in bed and like everyone, trying to find a 25th hour in the day.  Our mornings have been relatively smooth and we’re off and running at 7:15.  Here’s to the start of fall 2013! and finding a routine

PS… EXCITING NEWS…. Auntie Laura and Uncle Eric get married ONE month from tomorrow!!! woo hoo!!
