As school starts tomorrow and we enjoy our last relaxing morning at home in our PJ’s, I echo the feelings of all of those parents around me. Filled with bittersweet emotions, watching my oldest babies grow and spread their wings, secretly wanting to keep them safe and under your watchful eye indefinitely yet excited and oh so proud to see them growing into such fine young men. Nervous moments. Excited moments. Proud moments. The joys of settling into a new routine which requires 4 of us in the car and on the road by 7:15. Pictures to share later this week!
We ended our week with some time with Mamie and a fun play date on Thursday and a lunch date in the park with Daddy Friday. The boys were beyond excited to go. The decision on what to wear to Daddy’s work was difficult. Four outfit changes later, cologne laden, clothed in their finest we were on the road. The boys were joyful and Jacob had his first go at Northeast Brokerage. As the pictures show, it was a welcomed change of pace in our week.
Friday night I headed to Belchertown with Jake in tow for his first sleep over at Grammie and Dziadzu’s. Mike and the big boys held down the fort at home and we had a little sleepover with Auntie Laura too! The boys headed out for an early morning fishing adventure and we went had fun poking through my parents church tag sale. Can you believe the tag sale brought in over $25,000! It’s always so fun to see the excitement of it all and there are always treasures to be found for everyone. We headed back to Grammie and Dziadzu’s and worked on a few wedding decisions. Less than 6 weeks until Auntie Laura becomes a Mrs! Woo hoo! The three biggest boys met us at Grammie and Dziadzu’s and we headed to our friends, the Sylvestres’s to enjoy their gorgeous new home. What a charming space they have. We all truly enjoyed ourselves and weren’t sure how the afternoon slipped away so quickly.
We declared yesterday as a do-nothing day. Mike has been a busy boy working on an amazing wedding present for Laura and Eric. I will share shortly as it is still a work in progress but looking awesome. That boys got talent! We ended yesterday with a happy combination of being lazy and being productive. The laundry was folded, chores done, lawn mowed, walk snuck in, the first part of the wedding present is sanded and first coat of stain applied and we all went to bed happy and exhausted. That’s what I call a day. Call me a broken record, but we couldn’t be more blessed by the amazing friends and family that walk with us on this amazing journey.
Cheers to school year 2013!
