And here we are… nearing 2016. Our first winter storm expected tonight with Christmas toys galore and school vacation in full swing.  Life is good.  We visited, we traveled and we relaxed.  Christmas magic was in the air.

Aiden and Chris enjoyed two holiday parties at school and hosted a Gingerbread Kid Caper event for the grandparents.  Lucky for me, room moms were allowed to attend and assist with the event.  The play was adorable and the kids were as excited as can be.

It’s been birthday party galore and the kids had the chance to check out the CT Science Center and Bradley Bowl to celebrate two of their buddies.

Uncle Danny was up for just under a week and the boys quickly grew attached, all with their own big plans for their time with him.  We picked him up at the airport and the boys couldn’t have been any more thrilled to have him spend his first night at our house.  Jake went on his first trip to Build A Bear (a belated birthday present) and came home with Danny Dog, a fluffy little barking pup dressed in a Grinch shirt with a soccer ball in tow.  Jakes choice, fully supported by Uncle Dan.

In keeping with tradition, we spent Christmas Eve at the Hopkins relaxing and enjoying time with one another.  We played, we ate and we relaxed.  We were spoiled rotten and headed home to set the stockings, snacks for Santa and to enjoy our final Christmas stories before bed.  Excitement was high and sleep was low on the list of priorities.

We had attempts at early rising; 4:50 am, 5:30 am and we finally gave in just after 6 am.  Presents were unwrapped well before the sun was up.  Aiden and Chris’s favorite toy was their roller blades from Santa and Jakes varied depending on the toy currently in use.  We enjoyed breakfast and headed to my parents in Belchertown for another fun filled, relaxing day.  The unseasonably warm temps allowed for outdoor exploration before dinner and the kids and adults alike were again, spoiled beyond belief.

Saturday brought the extended Ptaszynski Family Christmas Party in Cheshire, CT this year.  Our family has been battling a sinus/cold/cough on and off for weeks so Mike stayed home with Jake while I headed to visit with the twins.  Everything was amazing.  ALL of the cousins, aunts and uncles were in attendance.  A full house indeed.  The food was delicious, the company was super fun and the day passed all too quickly.

Sunday we relaxed and recouped from the busy week prior and were thrilled to sneak in one last visit with Uncle Danny and Dziadzu before Dan headed back to FL early this morning.  It’s been a whirlwind but we wouldn’t want it any other way!

Here’s a sneak peak at our Christmas celebrations.  I unfortunately neglected to capture pictures at the two Ptaszynski get together’s.  I was too busy getting wrapped up in the moment.
