New Beginnings!

And here we are… a new year and new beginnings!  Who doesn’t love a fresh start?!?
I’ve got some catching up to do from 2015.

Mr. Jake has finally transitioned to a big boy toddler bed!  He was capable of climbing out of his cribs and used it to his advantage but not with enough frequency to concern us.  In an attempt to get him to sleep through the night (BAD HABITS I tell ya!), we removed one side of his crib.  The encouraged “big boy habits” only year one night of success but he’s pretty excited about his upgrade and does well staying in bed on most occasions.

We had our first snow fall of the year on Tuesday!  Jake was as excited as he was for Christmas morning and begged to sneak outside from the wee hours of the morning.  The boys were thrilled to break in some of their new Christmas goodies and the fresh air was long overdue for all of us!
Aiden and Chris have enjoyed a very relaxing school vacation.  They managed to leverage for more television than is typically allowed but have truly enjoyed the company of our neighbor, Ben.  The boys relax, read and explore together.  We spent New Years Eve with them and even broke the rules to let the kids stay up a tad bit later.
New Years Day we had a relaxing morning and headed for a long overdue visit to our friends, the Lockes.  We all had a blast!  The kids spent much of their time outside and are already asking when we can visit again.  A winning day for all!
And today Mr. Aiden lost his second tooth (lower, middle)!  He had been a busy wiggling worm for the past 2 days and finally had the magic touch!  He’s not convinced it was the best move as he is now learning about the difficulties of eating with a big gap in his mouth!
We are also happy to report that while Aiden’s 1st fish that he received from Uncle Danny for Christmas was not long for this world, we’ve got Mr. Happy at our house now who seems to be doing great!  Aiden is a very proud fish Daddy (and Chris is already trying to work on me to allow him to get a second fish!)

That’s a wrap for now!  Work has been keeping me busy this week and I’ve been oh so grateful to have an amazing husband who’s been picking up where I’ve left off!  I love him to pieces!  oxo
