What a surprise!

Last Monday I was thoroughly surprised and thrilled by a true "surprise" shower thrown by my friends at work.  What I thought was our standard, innocent holiday party at my boss, Anne's house turned out to be a surprise baby shower for me!  Needless to say, I was totally thrown off and even after walking into her house, hearing everyone shout "surprise" was still a bit clueless.  It was perhaps the first successful surprise that anyone has even thrown me!  Mike and I were showered with wonderful company, great food and generosity beyond belief.  We are both still in admiration of how amazing our friends, families and co-workers are and how lucky our boys will be to know such amazing people!

Mike and I were both lucky enough to have last Friday off from work.  Mike had a vacation day and I had an early closing for Umass but was able to vacation time to enjoy the whole day off.  We stayed in our comfy clothes all day and had a super productive afternoon.  Despite almost a foot of snow and being homebound, the nursery is now rocking and rolling!  I loaded up the closet with all of our gifts and have finally been able to move all of our baby goodies into the appropriate room rather than having one item in every room of the house!  The picture from this week is of the nursery facing the closet, which will probably be reorganized at least at dozen times more before they arrive.  It is exciting now that we are making more progress!

Mike and I are hoping to get outside today to go snowshoeing so I am off to get some chores done so we can play later!  Merry Christmas everyone!

The room is looking great. It must be a relief to be almost done. I know how construction and pregnancy can be.
