Dr.'s Appointment Update

Yesterday was our "ultrasound" and regular two week checkup at the Dr.'s.  As you can probably guess from my first sentence, the ultrasound was a bit disappointing as the boys once again decided to keep their profiles hidden from the world!  While Mike and I were disappointed that we weren't able to see their faces, we were again thrilled to hear all good news.  The bigger baby is weighing in at 3 pounds, 11 ounces and the little guy is 3 pounds, 5 ounces.  They are growing and moving appropriately and I even managed to have a contraction during the ultrasound.  The heart rates were 143 and 144 and I am now "measuring at 40 weeks."  The Dr. said that if it were only one baby,  I am the appropriate size and have 7 pounds of baby which would be standard for a singleton.... that just tells me that the next few weeks should prove to be interesting as I continue to get larger.

I did get some answers as to the floating body parts that poke out several times a day.  The bigger baby has grown to love sticking his knee out and the smaller baby has gotten accustomed to sticking his bottom out!  The little guy tries this trick about 10-12 times a day so I personally have to guess that he may be trying his best to flip but thankfully has been unsuccessful so far.  Both babies are still head down and as the Mike and the Dr.'s were joking, its a race to the finish line in terms of who comes out first!  We did get one picture which was a top view of both heads.   I don't have the picture at home with me tonight but I will try to post it this weekend for anyone that might be curious.

Our next Dr.'s appointment is in two weeks and we will have our next ultrasound in 4 weeks assuming the boys don't make their appearance before then.  In the meantime, we'll keep up with the weekly postings!
