Today was a new day and a fresh start for the boys for sure. Last night was by far the worst night that we have had since they were born. The boys were champs getting their shots and barely cried but only an hour after we got home, the crying fest began. There is nothing worse than having a baby (or two!) screaming their head off for no known reason with nothing that you can do. Last night was one of many nights and I was once again every so thankful to have Mike. I can't imagine trying to do this on my own which leads me to the crazy Octo-mom. I'd be interested to see how she handles 8 crying babies on her own! The boys seemed to be feeding off of each other so Mike spent the night in the living room with Chris and I spent the night in our bedroom with Aiden. Both boys screamed until they fell asleep only to awake again screaming. Mike and I both felt helpless and agreed that we are getting too old to pull all nighters :)
Thankfully, the fussiness ceased quite a bit by morning and they just wanted to cuddle all day. We got the call from the Dr. today that Aiden's jaundice levels had come down significantly which is great news. He was at 10 when he came home and went to 11 at his one month appointment but is now down to 5. The Dr. said that 1 -1.5 is a normal range so we are headed in the right direction. I guess the fresh air and sunshine from all of our walks are doing him good!
I forgot to mention that the boys and I went for a walk early yesterday afternoon. When we got home we were greeted on our front porch by Cali! We're not sure how she got outside nor how long she was romping around enjoying the neighborhood but we were glad that she found her way home. We were also so thankful for her new "do" as she came home with a lot less hitch hikers than she has in the past. In previous breakouts, she has come home looking like a pig in mud with all kinds of leaves and dirt in tow.... For as much as we question some of her devious behaviors, we have decided that her life must not be that bad after all if she decided to come home on her own free will for more fun with the babies....
