Aiden and Chris turned 3 months old on Monday. The last 12 weeks have been so wonderful but have passed in the blink of an eye. Mike and I truly look forward to getting up each morning to see the boys smiles and to experience new high pitch screeches, coes and facial expressions that they may have taught themselves overnight.
Earlier this week Mike went to North Carolina for two days for work. We were so lucky to have Grammie Pt come over mid-afternoon to lend an extra set of hands and Dziadz Pt. spent the night to help with the night time feedings. Our boys and myself have been spoiled with all of the company and help we have been given since day one. I am hoping that maybe the next time Mike travels the boys will be sleeping longer stretches at night. We can at least be optimistic! Mike did learn this lesson for this trip and although he left at 4 am on Monday, he went dressed with his shoes on his feet rather than packed AND best of all... he managed to leave the house wearing one right shoe and one left shoe ~ way to go Daddy!
Today the boys experienced their first Umass party. We visited our friends in Financial Aid for the year end student party. If only the boys college parties in the future could be as "tame" as today, I would have nothing to worry about. The boys did great on the car ride and loved all of the cuddling that they received.
Upon arriving home, I was surprised with a clean house! Mike was busy while we were gone straightening up the livingroom. He went even further and offered to take the boys to his parents for the night to give me a few hours to myself. In all honesty, my first reaction was that I wished he had given me some more notice so that I could "plan" my night, prioritize my chores and make my lists. Maybe I am crazy and should have sat eating Bon Bons (do they really make them?), watching trashy TV and painting my nails but instead I decided to be productive. What a treat! I went to the grocery store, Walmart and Home Depot, did 3 loads of laundry, went for a run, weeded for 10 minutes until it was dark (not sure if that counts for anything...), folded 4 loads of laundry, made muffins and am now blogging. Its amazing what 4 hours of freedom affords. I felt like the luckiest lady alive! It truly is so awesome to have such a supportive, caring partner. I know, I know, enough mush but Mike really is the best husband and best Daddy!
