So I think I made some family members nervous changing our header from "What started as two will soon be four" to "we're now a family of four... who knows when we'll be ready for more? " I now feel the need to clarify that we are more than perfectly content with our two wonderful babies and do not plan on expanding until the boys are at least 15 and can babysit for us. In all seriousness, Mike and I have both agreed that we want to enjoy Aiden and Chris and give them as much TLC as we can for a few years before we decide to welcome another member into our family.... so, that being said - It's Mother's Day! I have decided that this might be quite possibly the best holiday ever. What better is there to celebrate than being the mother of two perfect baby boys!
Daddy decided to treat me this morning and did the 4 am feeding by himself so I got a break from the usual night time routine - sleep is good! The boys also surprised me with a beautiful card and two special new shirts! Our morning was filled with relaxation and lots of cuddle time so who could ask for more!?! I have asked for a long walk this afternoon and following the walk, we are going to dinner at Grammie and Dziadz Pt.'s to celebrate.
We had a great week. The boys are both beginning to discover their hands more and more. Their hands are always in motion and tend to find themselves in places where they unknowningly tickle the lucky person holding them. It's pretty entertaining. Aiden and I were sharing some story time on Wednesday night and he was cuddled in beneath my arm and half way through the story I feel a gentle tickle as he wiggled his fingers with delight.
Friday Grammie Hopkins came over to watch the boys while I went into work for the first time since I had the boys. It was weird being back and in all honesty I have to admit that I spent 2 hours getting everything lined up and ready the night before and was up at 4:15 am to start my day on Friday. That could definitely take some getting used to! The boys did great though and really enjoyed their time with Grammie. For me, it reinforced the old saying "Absence makes the heart grow fonder." Coming home mid-afternoon I just couldn't get enough of the boys myself. It feels almost as if I rediscover them anytime I am away from them for more than a bathroom break!
This week we had fun visiting with: Grammie/Grampa Hopkins, Grammie/Dziadz Pt, GG Mimi, Auntie Laura, Leeanne, Jill H., Aunt Lynda/Uncle Dave, Amanda G & Uncle Tom/Stephanie.
