Aiden (L) & Chris (R) looking like they were caught in the act for something!
Chris saying "Lets see you eat this!"
Aiden thinking "I'll get you for this later!"
Today is a good day for the Sox & Chris!
Aiden thinks the Sox are something worth smiling about!
Friday marked the first day that we "attempted" to feed the boys some oatmeal. The key word being attempted. The boys both decided that they didn't want to nap on Friday so by the time our eager crowd (Grammie & Grandpa Hopkins, Grammie & Dziadz Pt. & Uncle Andrew) arrived, the boys were less than ready to entertain and were more interested in sleeping and complaining. We braved it anyways but Aiden & Chris has other plans. Both boys made faces of disguist and were less than pleased.
Attempt number two occurred Saturday morning part way through their second feed. Chris seemed to be a bit more receptive but with the faces that both boys were making, you would have thought we were feeding them canned cat food or something. We have not given up hope and are continuing to try the gradual introduction to oatmeal in the morning and at night. We figure eventually they will get the hang of it. What is pretty cute is that both boys take your hand to guide you as you get the spoon close to their mouths.
It is with GREAT joy that I am pleased to announce that Aiden slept through the night for the first time on Friday! We wish we could contribute it to the smidgen of oatmeal that was actually consumed as opposed to the oddles that surrounded his mouth and bib but I am thinking it may be coincidental! Perhaps is was the fact that he didn't nap most of the day :) In either case, he slept from 10:30 pm - 5:30 am. We do have to couple this joy with the fact that Chris was up 3 times during this span but we are making baby steps. This was also a one time deal for Aiden that has not been repeated since but at least we know he is capable!
This weekend I also had to sadly admit defeat and start supplementing my breast milk with formula. If you can't tell, I was less than pleased about having to give in but with returning to work, my frozen stock has been slowly depleating, leaving me with no choice. We also have to big growing boys that are demanding more and more.... I weighed the boys at home tonight and Aiden weighs 14.2 pounds and Chris weighs 13.8. Way to go Chris. He is slowly catching up!
This week we had fun visiting with: GG Mimi, Grammie/Dziadz Pt, Grammie/Grampa Hopkins, Uncle Andrew, Auntie Laura, Leeanne, Katy & while Grammie was watching the boys they got to play with Aunt Lynda/Whit & Jenn!

Hey Beth, SO exciting that the boys are starting solids! T didn't really like the oatmeal right away, so with C I started sprinkling a little in his bottles before trying to spoon feed it so he was at least used to the taste even if the texture was different and it seemed to help him catch on faster (and also fill his belly more even when he just had a bottle.) Hope it continues to go well, can't wait to finally meet the boys this weekend! :) - Laurie
