Wow - Post 101!

Cutie Pie Chris letting Aiden do all of the laughing!

Aiden's first laugh last Monday when Dzaidz was making funny noises! Mike and I have yet to make him laugh ourselves and are wondering if maybe we're just not funny enough!

As I log in to post this blog I am just realizing that this is my 101 blog! My goodness, I guess I have been busier than I remembered!

This week has been a week of change. After much debate, endless conversations and weighing our pros and cons, I gave my resignation on Tuesday with mixed emotions. After starting back to work 3 weeks ago part-time, Mike and I realized how big an impact it has on our lives and the happiness of our family. Mike and I realized that we are only given one chance to be the best parents that we can, raising the best kids that we can and bearing that in mind, we have decided that it is important to us to do whatever it takes to make it possible for me to stay home with the boys. I am thrilled to be there for every special moment but I am also sad to be leaving behind so many great friends at Umass. I will continue to work part-time at Umass until September 11th and unfortunately for the Umass crew, they will be stuck with me visiting them regularily with the boys afterward. Everyone at work has been so understanding and wonderful!

Mike's job continues to go well and is keeping him busy. It has been a huge adjustment for our family to have him gone 9+ hours a day after being spoiled, having him work from home for nearly 4 months.

Things are going well having Auntie Laura living with us. She has been a great help with the boys and comes home, working the boys lungs and always managing to get them to carry on a full conversation.

And of course, saving the best for last, the boys continue to do fabulous! They are so much fun and have the ability to make Mike and I smile at any given minute. They have typically been getting 4 hour sleeping stretches at night and tomorrow is the turning moment when they will be given oatmeal for the first time. Both sets of grandparents will be here to share the experience. I will be sure to report back this weekend and I will hope for some good pictures to share :)

Last night Leeanne and Auntie Laura's friend Katy came for a visit. The boys were having so much fun that they decided they didn't want to go to bed until after 9 pm. They are party animals at 5 months old!

Other eventful household news this week is that our basement has flooded! Seeing as this is our third summer in our house and we have never had this problem, I think it is a sign that we have had TOO MUCH rain! Rain, rain go away and come again next year...please!
