New discoveries

Chris's notoriously catchy smile.. how can you resist?

Aiden's new favorite hiding spot... under moms and dads bed!

Chris decides that sunflowers taste better for the birds!

Aiden is exploring and tasting a leaf!

First I want to thank everyone that has taken the time to cast a vote for Aiden and Chris for Gap. Chris and Aiden asked me to tell everyone that they feel like super stars! Thank you as well to those that passed our request along to others. We are having fun with the contest and for those that have not had the chance to participate, it's not too late! Please vote everyday that you are able to until November 11th!

In my last post, I forgot to mention one very important update. Christopher and Aiden are now sleeping in their own room! Last Friday night Mike and I moved the boys into their nursery to spend their first night alone in their big boy room. I wish that I could report that they slept through the night or that there was a significant change in their sleeping patterns but in all honesty, their sleep was the same but Mike and I just had a bit further to go to attend to their middle of the night needs.. So they have now spent 5 nights in the nursery and we have had 2 good nights and 3 bad nights. Only time will tell if we give in and move them back into the Pack N Plays in our bedroom.

Christopher discovered his tongue on Monday! He is super cute as he unknowingly sticks it out, twists it and curls it up. What a find! He is also still VERY much in love with his feet, especially now that he wears socks on most days. It has become a game for him to pull his socks off or to get his socks in his mouth, but he saves that trick for when he is eating with food IN his mouth to make it a bit more exciting. Chris continues to peek over his bumper in his crib, thinking that nap time is the funniest thing.

Aiden's latest interest is in talking... not just "cooing" anymore but there have been so many instances that Mike and I really think we hear words. He is funny because he is so serious when he is conversing. It's as if he is on a mission to get his point across. Aiden's adventures this week was to chase Cali, our cat in his walker. Both boys are in LOVE with the cat and Cali has actually started to peak an interest in them. Maybe she is just that desperate for attention :) Aiden was cruising around in his walker on Monday when I heard a giggle coming from behind the island in our kitchen. As I peaked around the corner I noticed that he had pulled a jacket off of the back of a chair and had it in his mouth, surprise, surprise. I laughed, put the coat back on the chair and so began a new game for Aiden. The game is played something like this... Aiden sneaks over to the chair, pulls the coat off, laughs and waits for my response. Babies are too smart!

On Monday night, I was by myself with the boys. We had fun and the day actually went by quickly, of course that was after 3 walks! The boys and I decided to be adventurous and we headed to East Granby, Ct to check out another area of the bike trail. What a gorgeous area! I felt like we were in the middle of nowhere as there weren't any houses or traffic for huge stretches of the path. It was relaxing and refreshing.

Last night, Leeanne came over for a visit and we went for a walk. We have been so lucky to have such great fall walking weather. Well that is until this morning. I decided to brave the weather forecast and went for a brief walk with the boys. I saw brief because a dark rain crowd loomed overhead and rained on our parade... literally! We're hoping for a long, more relaxing walk this afternoon.

I am so amazed by Aiden and Chris and love laying in bed at the end of the day, recapping and catching Mike up on all of their silliness. I really can't even imagine what we talked about before their arrival!

I miss you guys and the boys. Florida is beautiful this time of year. I think it's about time you started thinking about a vacation.
