Christopher's fun with spaghetti!
Aiden asks himself "what the heck is this???"
Aiden give Chris his laughing, loving look.
Chris says "cheese".... okay maybe it went something more like "bah bah bah."
Aiden's ready for the hood with his new thick chains.
Chris enjoys a ride on his pony.
**** I do have pictures from our weekend in Belchertown but unfortunately we "thought" we forgot our normal camera so I was stuck using my mini. (The camera was actually in Mike's overnight bag and was discovered as we were packing to come home Sunday afternoon) It may be a while before I can locate the cord to upload the pictures from that camera to my computer!
In being honest, I think this is the first time that I find my admitting that this was a challenging week. As I mentioned in my mid-week post, the boys were both sick last weekend. As the fevers ceased mid-week and we thought things were looking brighter, Chris broke out in a rash that covered most of his body. Poor tike. After my 4th phone call to the pediatrician's this week (thankfully they don't make you identify yourself with each call!), they assured me that if he didn't currently have a fever, it wasn't anything to be concerned about but just something to watch. Like any parent, I didn't feel settled not having any clue what was causing the rash so my mom came over to give me a second opinion. Just listening to what I was describing, my mom guessed it was roseola. Thanks to the wonderful world of Internet searches, I googled "roseola" and couldn't have agreed more. Although Chris didn't seem bothered by the rash, I felt so relieved to know it wasn't anything to be alarmed by. Looking next to Aiden, I was surprised to find that he didn't show any signs of the rash. Lucky tike! I am still not sure how one can be fed off of the same spoon, steal binky directly from one anothers mouths and chew on the same toys yet not catch a viral infection. I guess we should consider ourselves lucky!
So things were looking up until Christopher woke up Friday night at 11:30 pm screaming. We have been so spoiled since we have never experienced the horror stories that we hear about babies waking up screaming for no reason in the middle of the night... at least not yet. While I do know that we still have the teething feat ahead of us, we have appreciated that once Aiden and Chris are asleep, they are asleep unless until they wake up to eat at which time they eat and put themselves back to sleep. With the 11:30 wake up call, we were able to calm Chris down but he woke up again at 12:30 pm and this time decided to scream for 2 hours. We were guessing it may have been his ears and were finally able to distract him and calm him down enough to get him back to sleep but it was a LONG night! We called the Dr. on Saturday morning and were able to get in for a check up and felt great knowing that his ears were okay. The Dr. said it could have been whatever was going on in his body that made him uncomfortable. I can not tell you how much we appreciated having a normal nights sleep, free of screaming fits on Saturday!
Uncle Dan came into town on Friday night. Unfortunately he got out of work later than expected and with the typical Boston traffic on Fridays we weren't able to see Dan until yesterday morning. We had a busy but fun day. The boys loved seeing Uncle Dan! We went to Grammie & Dziadz Pt.'s for an early Thanksgiving celebration/Happy Bday Grammie/Happy Anniversary Grammie & Dziadz party! We all had a blast and enjoyed great food and great company! We spent the night in Belchertown so that our visit could be extended for an extra day. I think Uncle Dan was surprised at how much the boys had grown and the boys got a kick out of playing with someone new. GG Mimi and Auntie Laura also joined in the festivities. The adults had a blast staying up, teasing another as we recalled old stories. Today we had a relaxing morning and for Mike and I, it was great to have several extra sets of hands. I know that personally it does me a world of good to get out of my house from time to time because I have no choice but to relax when I'm not home working on the never ending "to-do" lists.
We are excited for the week ahead and are very much looking forward to seeing our families. We will be hosting Thanksgiving at our house so if I don't post mid-week its likely that I am cooking and cleaning but I will be sure to post ASAP. Happy early Thanksgiving everyone!!!
