Chris "napping"
My sick baby, Aiden.... and the rash continued to spread!
The boys eagerly await the cats return from the basement. (Aiden, L and Chris, R)
Sorry, I can't seem to be able to rotate these :)
Mike with Aiden out for our walk on New Years Eve.
Beth with Chris who quickly conked out about 20 minutes into our walk.
We are finally getting back on track so I am back to blogging... It is a new year with a fresh start, phew! Aiden is feeling better. My previous post was brief as I had two boys that both wanted constant momma time. I was SO thankful to have Mike around for an extra day with the New Years holiday!
Last weekend Aiden spiked a fever of near 105 degrees. It was a scary night for Mike and I and poor Aiden didn't know what to do with himself. We were able to get his fever down so thankfully we didnt have to make any hospital visits but we did bring him in to the peditricians last Sunday at their recommendation. We were relieved to find out it was a viral infection but sad that it meant there was nothing that we could do to make Aiden feel better. Of course the day following Aiden's fever was the Ptaszynski family Christmas gathering in Dover, Ma. Christopher and I went solo... well thankfully not solo because Auntie Laura and Uncle Dan drove with us to keep Chris company in the back seat while Daddy stayed home to cuddle with Aiden. We knew Aiden was sick when we was actually willing to take naps with someone rather than fighting sleep and pushing for more play time. Christopher was the man of the hour at the party and loved being in the lime light. Somedays I think he may have enjoyed being an only child :) We all had a lot of fun at the party and Chris slept the entire ride home!
Aiden's fever hoovered between 101 and 102 and finally let up on Tuesday but was followed with a rash that continued to get worse for the next two days. From the looks of it, I think he had roseola. My thought is further confirmed by the fact that Chris never got sick and has roseola a few weeks back. So... we are finally healthy and right on track for a great new year!
We still have NO teeth!!!! At this rate the poor kiddos may never get to meet the tooth fairy.
On New Years Day night Mike and I had a super treat of a night of sleep and peace and quiet. Aiden and Chris went for a sleepover to Grammie and Grampie Hopkins house. I know the boys had a great time adn Grammie and Grampie report that they were a lot of fun. Hopefully it won't take them too long to catch up on their lost sleep! We were SO grateful to have a quiet, relaxing, restful night!
The boys will be a year old in 6 weeks which means that I am 6 weeks away from being DONE pumping.... hopefully for a very LONG time! In the meantime my 4th pump has broken so the days of being free are even more anticipated!
Christopher went for a 6 week follow up/weight check after his 9 month appointment on Christmas Eve. Aiden stayed home with Uncle Dan and Auntie Laura and Chris has soem alone time yet again with Mommy. The appointment went well and he gained 9 ounces in 6 weeks. I was pleased but our peditrician was hoping for a more significant gain. She has referred us to the CT Childrens Medical Hospital feeding team with the hopes that they may have more suggestions of new foods or tricks to try. I am open to anything that will put him in a better place. We have the appointment set for the end of January but we are in the process of switching health insurance carriers and trying to figure out how this service may factor in.
SO.... we are hoping for less wind, warmer sunshine and LOTS of walks this week since we have been inside and out of the cold since New Years Day! Happy 2010 everyone!
