A night to remember!

When you are in the kitche making lunch and you hear giggling coming from the hallway, how can you resist laughing when you turn the corner to find a baby, happy as can be in what was once a basket of "folded" laundry. (Aiden - mooning us, Chris giggling in the basket)

Aiden enjoys eating his first full apple. Who knew apples could be so much fun with only two bottom teeth?

Christopher was occupied for at least 15 minutes "working" on his apple.

The results.. Chris (L) and Aiden (R)... And with only TWO bottom teeth!!!!!

What a great weekend! The end of the week turned out to be great for walks even despite the weather forecast for rain on Friday. We were thrilled to be able to meet our friends Caroline and Mathieu for a walk on Friday morning. It is so nice to catch up with them and its great for me to have someone to bump any baby dilemma's off of as Mathieu is at the same stages as Aiden and Chris. Friday night we were excited to have our friends Lynn and Jon over for dinner. The boys hadn't met Jon and hadn't seen Lynn in a while so they were timid initially but warmed up quickly. They were quite intrigued by Jon and Aiden quickly learned that because of Jon's tall stature, he was a good friend to have since he could easily help him reach the light and fan switches! We had a wonderful visit and it was so nice to catch up.

Friday night BOTH boys, yes BOTH boys slept through the night!!!! You heard me right, we looked at the clock and it said 6:05 and that we the first we heard from them. Woo hoo!!! Unfortunately it only lasted one night but it was a landmark night!

Yesterday the boys went on their second trip to Costco. It was a great way to kill some time on a rainy day. They love having so many things to look at and love all of the attention they get. They also love reaching out and touching EVERYTHING!!!!

Last night Mike and I were lucky enough to be able to attend the "Shine All Night" concert with Martina McBride, Trace Adkins and Sarah Buxton. We had a BLAST! It had been almost 5 years since we had been to a concert and it was a very entertaining, fun, different date night. The concert was at Mohegan Sun and I was given two free tickets in exchange for blogging about the event. What a deal! Neither Mike nor I had been to Mohegan Sun before so that was an experience in and of itself. With the rain, the place was packed! We couldn't find parking in the garage so we started the night off wet, but still ended on a great note. Mohegan Sun is huge! Neither Mike nor I are gamblers so our attempt at trying to play the slots was pretty entertaining. Who knew you couldn't just stick a quarter in a slot machine anymore? Instead, you have to put at least a $10 or $20 bill or a token, even for a twenty five cent bet. We are learning slowly. We spent and lost $5 in a matter of 45 seconds and called it a night.

The arena was really nice. We had great seats and being so close made the artists really seem like real people and not just super stars that we see on TV and hear about on the radio. Sarah Buxton was the opening act for the tour and she can sing! We headed in after she had started but had I know she was going to be so good, we would have skipped the $5 gambling loss and headed in right away. Trace played after Sarah and wow is he BIG! After returning home from the concert, Mike was looking up his stats and he is 6 feet, 6 inches and built! It was no surprise to learn that his voice was even better in person and he has quite a sense of humor and played many familiar songs from the radio. Martina was the closing act and is just as beautiful in person as she is on TV. She is so bubbly and spunky and seems like she must be a ton of fun to be around. I was surprised by how many of her songs I knew but didn't realize she was the singer. The audience was interesting because you had some fans that were REALLY into it and others that just sat still. I think the highlight was the woman who was coming up the stairs towards us and stopped, asking the woman sitting in front of us to hold her camera while she proceeded to OBVIOUSLY zip her fly. I will take a guess that she may have had too much to drink but it was pretty funny. Nothing inconspicuous about her moves :)

It was a late night but SO worth while! With the time changes, we are paying the price today but we had so much fun. Auntie Laura and Grammie Pt came over to watch Aiden and Chris for us and Auntie spent the night. It was like old times and I think the boys really enjoyed being able to entertain them.

Tonight we are headed to Grammie and Dziadz Pt's for dinner. We shall see how the time change affects meals and bedtimes over the next few days/weeks..... Tomorrow is a big day. Aiden and Chris start Suffield High School Wildcat Playschool! Monday-Thursday they will be going to the high school for playtime with the students taking child development. They meet for an hour and 15 min in the morning. I am excited and anxious and hope that they will do well. They will now be skipping their morning naps to make it to playschool so it could be a disaster but I can only hope for the best. The program runs for 10 weeks and should be a great chance for them to socialize, meet some new people and get some one on one time. I am also looking forward to an hour with empty arms! I will report back mid-week. Until then, lets hope for no more rain!!!!
