15 Months!

Christopher with his first ear of corn. It was fun but I'm not to sure any actually made it into his mouth!

Chris (L) and Aiden (R) always have fun bouncing together in their crib!

Aiden takes his reading time seriously. Two of his favorite things... books and fuzzy blankets!

I am not sure that Aiden and Chris would want me to comment that this week has been a good week. Yesterday was a rough day for them as they had their 15 month appointments and 4 shots each! Despite the shots and an hour of tears, the boys came home to their toys and seem untramatized :)

On Monday the boys went to playschool in the morning and we had a play date with our friends Caroline and Mathieu in the afternoon. We went for a walk and went to the playground which was a hit! Aiden was in his glory and wanted nothing to do with Mommy while Christopher was interested but hesitant...a bit of a role reversal. They now LOVE swings and often don't want to come out for a break. The play scape that we visited had a mini rock climbing type feature that my monkeys climbed without even looking back. There were 3 year olds that weren't able to, but climbing is a skill that has been quickly mastered in our house, compliments of having a kitty that often tries to hide in hard to reach places, encouraging our climbing monkeys! The fresh air was fantastic and the boys took their best naps yet... 2 1/2 hours!!!!!

Monday night Auntie Laura and Auntie Leeanne came for a visit. The boys were very busy walking around, competing for attention but there was plenty to receive for our lucky boys! We had a great visit with Laura and Leeanne!

Of course a day of good naps has to be followed by a day of no naps - yesterday... so the combination of no naps and 2 shots in each arms made for a testy day! Grammie Hopkins came over in the morning and said that she really enjoyed her time with Chris and Aiden. I know that they feel the same way! Grammie Pt. came to help with their Dr. appointments in the afternoon and stayed to play for a while after so it was great to have an extra set of hands all day, thanks to the WONDERFUL grammies that we have! We are so spoiled, but so appreciative!

So... as for the Dr. appointments.... Despite the crocodile tears that started from the minute we undressed them, both boys did well. We apparently grow them small in our house as neither Chris nor Aiden are on the charts for weight. Aiden is 19 pounds, 3 ounces and Chris is 17 pounds, 14 ounces (SO close to 18 pounds!!!). Aiden is 31 inches and is in the 50% for height and Christopher is 29 inches and is in the 5%. Both are in the 75% for heads!

We met with Linda Thompson, a nurse practitioner yesterday who was very nice and wants us to continue to work on eating, eating, eating! They boys have to go back in a month for a weight check since they are so tiny. We did get the go-ahead to try peanut butter (they usually recommend waiting until age 2 at our Dr. due to allergies) with the hopes that we will have another source of fat in their diets. So far it wasn't a hit for Aiden and Chris seemed indifferent but we keep reintroducing and reintroducing. If anyone is up for a good challenge, I invite you over to try to feed my picky little mini-monkeys who don't want to stop playing to eat!
