Happy Father's Day!!!

These three pictures are all similar and are from our "Father's Day photo shoot" Christopher is on the left and Aiden is on the right (wow, that was easy... for once I didn't have to spend 5 minutes uploading and labeling all of my blog pics and double checking to make sure I got the boys labeled right!)

Although the sun has been shining and the weather has been more than cooperative, it has been a tough week for the twins. I am officially the worst mommy ever as Aiden and Chris are now on a starvation diet - no joke.... In following the pedictricians orders from our visit last week, we have eliminated all snacks and are offering the boys mostly fruits, veggies and some meat on their highchairs which they must feed themselves or go hungry. They have chose the later. Aiden and Chris are both HUGE snackers, like their Mommy so this change is something that I have been struggling with as well. I too have limited my snacks or have to "sneak" them so I am not teasing the boys. Its been another toughie eliminating the bottle at the same time and TRYING to replace it with a sippy cup. The boys know how to use sippy cups and so I do know and agree that if they are hungry enough, they will eat what they are given and will drink from the sippy cup but it is SOOOOOOO hard to see. I am a HUGE push over when it comes to the boys and I would love to give in and just let them snack all day long but knowing that we have come this far, I feel like maybe there is hope. What toddler doesn't like grapes, strawberries, cantalope, bananas, cherries, peaches AND pears???? My goodness the boys are picky!

Speaking of breaking my heart, Aiden was delighted to find a single (probably week old) stale cheerio on the floor last week and he immediately shoved it into his mouth (probably out of fear that Chris would steal it if he didn't)! I think hunger breeds crankiness and crankiness breeds hungry - a vicious cycle. I hope that next week at this time I will report that we have succeed and are moving on!

Aside for the hungry, cranky issues that the middle of this week has brought, we have been enjoying the sunshine for sure! The boys both love the sandbox that we have on our deck. There is nothing better to them then digging into the sand and throwing it up in the air, with an occasional nibble here and there. They also LOVE being chased around the house. The "chase me" game never gets old for them... they run around giggling before you even catch them!

On Wednesday night I was thrilled to take a road trip to Boston with my friend Juliet to meet Connor Martin Sylvestre for the first time. Connor is absolutely adorable and sweet in every way. Kym and Ross have been two of our very best friends and we are so thrilled to see them enjoying their special little man so much. They are amazing parents and true naturals. Juliet and I were loving our snuggle time with little Connor and we hope that the Sylvestre's will let us visit again soon.

On Thursday, Karli the OT came over for a visit. She answered many of my feeding questions and concerns and agreed that we should at least try the pediatricians recommendation. I guess having her support with this change made me feel better about my concerns that they may be eating less and losing weight, putting us back to where we started.

On Friday to beat the heat we headed over to visit Grammie Hopkins and enjoyed some pool time and fun in the sun. Grammie & Grandpa Hopkins opened their big pool for the season so I was excited to see how the boys liked it. I guess the season opening cold temps may have scared them off as Aiden literally climbed up me like a ladder as soon as his toes hit the water! We know he loves the water so I am hoping that as the top of the pool warms up, his interest may warm up as well. Aside from the big pool, Aiden and Chris LOVED the little kiddie pool that Grammie set up with lots of little toys and warm water. They ran around the yard a bit, cooled off and played in the sandbox... could like be any better? We had an awesome visit and it was nice to have a second set of hands to keep up with them!

On Saturday we started our Father's Day festivities at the Hopkins early in the morning. We were also lucky to sneak in a visit with Uncle Andrew and his friend Melissa as they were at Grammie & Grandpa's too! The boys loved running around and were quick to find the mini pool and sand box. They also loved running through Grammie's gardens and were very curious about Grandpa's riding lawn mover/tractor. We had a great visit!

Saturday night we headed to my parents for a Father's Day dinner. We had delicious food and wonderful company. The boys made themselves right at home and pulled out every toy that Grammie Pt had. They also enjoyed picking and eating fresh blueberries (not sure why they will eat these but not even a nibble of blueberries at home!) and chasing around their dog, Maddie. We all had fun and came home to crash for the night!

Today we were excited to lay low in the afternoon at Daddy's request. We did head out to see our friend's Adam and Gina's new house. We are so excited for them and love their new place. It is going to be so cozy and beautiful once they settle in.

Daddy's one request of me was to sit and relax with him tonight rather than rushing around the house doing projects... So, off I go to relax at Daddy's request. What a man! What a Daddy! What a husband!

Happy, Happy, Happy Father's Day to the three amazing dad's in my life, my Dad, my Father in Law and my Husband. You all truly set the bar way too high!!! We love you to death!!!! oxoxo
