It's a dirty laundry party and you're invited! Aiden and Chris have taken a liking to emptying out their dirty laundry basket and then proceed to parade around the house with armfuls of their treasures. Thankfully they are also capable of filling the hamper back up afterward. Nothing beats the simple pleasures!

Boys really do love their tractors.

It's official - I am "that mom!" I've left 3 messages now within the past week at Connecticut Children's Medical Center trying to make an appointment to get Christopher in for an evaluation. I dreaded calling the second time and thought that was bad but found myself calling again today because I am getting very anxious to find something that might work. Uggh.... I think the most frustrating part is that the message specifically detailed that someone would call you back within 48 hours. I am on round 3 of 48 hours. One of the best pieces of advice I received when the boys were first born was that only we as parents can be the best advocates for our children. So, here I am playing the role of "that mom!"
Aiden and Chris have taken quite a liking to challenging every rule that we are working to establish. Could the terrible twos be setting in already? I am okay with that idea as long as it also means that they will pass quickly as well. We can only hope because these little guys are monkeys! I think their smaller sizes makes it even more challenging as they can fit just about anywhere and can managed to pull themselves up onto anything as well.
We had two repeat offenders this week... Cali and Aiden. Cali continues to try to let herself out at every opportunity. I guess she hasn't learned. Or maybe she has a crush on the skunk? Better yet, she got more attention from the skunk that she has been getting from us, poor thing! Aiden has taken a liking to the bubbles that he can blow when he passes gas in the tub. This hasn't ended well and has shortened the play time in the tub. As you might guess, we have had more "floaters!"
The highlight for the boys this week has been the recycling truck. We have lucked out with the timing of our walks and have managed to walk our 4 mile route, tracking the recycle truck for at least half of it the past two days. My pace has been less than consistent, jogging at time and poking along at others but its been so amusing for Aiden and Chris. The truck driver stopped to wave several times and even tooted his horn! He was so sweet, going out of his way to acknowledge the boys so I decided to email the company to let them know how impressed I was! It made Aiden and Chris's day so I figured maybe I could make the drivers day too! I am a dork, I know :)
Tonight I am headed out to catch up with my friend Leeanne, hence my early post. We had a great visit with Grammie & Grandpa Hopkins and Uncle Andrew on Monday night. Grammie and Grandpa just got back from their first cruise so it was nice to catch up and see them again! We also had OT and we had an exciting visit from the Maytag repair man. The boys were very entertained none the less! For anyone that has a relatively new dishwasher, make sure you check out all of the recalls. There were thousands that were recalled as potential fire hazards and ours was among them. It was amazing to see what our hard water has done to the dishwasher in less than 3 years. Lesson learned - we should start saving now for a new dishwasher and washing machine!
