Stuck with Momma

Chris is deeply wrapped up in his reading.

Aiden's glowing as he peers out the window for Daddy to come home (of course I should mentioned that this was only 10:30 am this morning - little did he know that he would have at least 7 more hours of waiting!)

"Don't worry Mom, we're all friends here...." Aiden on top, Chris pinned below.

Aiden's been reading so much that he is ready for nap!

I should first start this blog with a wanted ad...
Wanted: A nice, loving home for a cuddly, good natured fur ball cat. Cali is 5 year old long haired, white cat with blue eyes. She is truly a people person and that is why we are looking to find her a home where someone can give her the love that she deserves. She is fine with kids and other pets and tends to ignore or taunt them and has lived only inside since she has been with us. We adopted her as a kitten so we are not sure what breed she but she has been a great pet and would be the perfect companion for someone that has the patience for loving, cuddly animals. She is declawed in the front and truly comes with no disclosures. If anyone knows of anyone that might be looking for companionship, let us know!

New news this week - Christopher made his first official phone call and made a great choice at that! On Sunday, Mike and I were in the kitchen while the boys played quietly in the livingroom. Perhaps the quiet part should have been our first clue... It wasn't long before we heard Grammie Hopkins voice coming from a phone in the livingroom as she said "Hi Mike!" Utt Ohhh.... Christopher figured out how to work Mike's speed dial numbers and called Grammie. Thankfully she was a willing recipient of the call and the phone was set to it speaker so that we didn't have to holding on the other line for too long! I thought it was bad when I saw 10 year olds with cell phones but yikes, now we are those parents with our 18 month olds making phone calls :)

The boys are totally into wrestling with one another! They are playful and sometimes a bit rough but love to make one another laugh and love to egg each other on. It is quite entertaining to watch. I have a great video clip that I will try to upload soon. Even Aiden and Chris enjoy watching it and laugh in response!

We have literally had a week of nothing. No plans and no new adventures, well outside of our home anyways. I guess maybe everyone needs one of those weeks every once in a while? I am going a bit stir crazy but we have been getting out once Mike gets home from work. Our OT cancelled last minute this week due to a dog bite and our play dates have been cancelled and postponed for various reasons. Poor Aiden and Chris have been stuck with their boring, old Momma all day long all week long! We may all need therapy :) We have been spending a lot of time reading. Both boys, Aiden especially love to "back themselves" into your lap for story and cuddle time, often when you don't even know it's coming! They have been loving racing around the house and are very into making the accompanying truck or animal sounds. They enjoy riding on their trucks and lions and aregreat at lifting their feet off of the ground to enjoy the ride which cracks me up! They love wooden puzzles and continue to love being chased! We are continually amazed by the things that they are listening to and learning as they show signs of understanding weeks later. We can say that we certainly never know what tomorrow will bring. The boys are now able to identify several body parts, family members and animals as well as fans, lights, airplanes and even some food items. Now Mike and I have to keep in mind that there are 4 listening little ears that are soaking in all that we are saying with the hopes of preventing future embarrassment! At the very least I am quite sure we will have many good stories to tell in the years to come!
