Humm.. Now what's that new word? (Chris)
Aiden is teaching Momma how to read.
Now one can enter unless they agree to read Aiden (l) and Chris (r) their tractor books!
In light of the fact that tomorrow is crunch prep time for turkey day, I figured I would post my mid-week blog a bit early to cross another thing off of my to-do list.
The boys are trying so hard to use and say new words. They are very excited to say "up", "light," "amen," "back pack," "diaper" and... wait for it... "I LOVE YOU!" The last of course is my favorite and I was super excited that they said it to me first! I was grocery shopping last night and called before their bedtime to be surprise by both Chris and Aiden when they said "I love you" over the phone. It was a bit of a compound phrase, but cute none the less. I'll accept that privilege any day! I love that they get so excited about trying new words but it is totally dependant on their mood and level of interest/distraction.
The boys had playschool on Monday and enjoyed their time there but wanted me right by their side. I was not surprised since it had been over a week and a half since they last attended. I am looking forward to the last few weeks since the schedule will be a bit more regular now that Veterans Day is over and Thanksgiving is quickly approaching. Heck, maybe I'll even get lucky and sneak out again?
We mixed up our usual Tuesday morning routine and went with Grammie Hopkins to visit our friends, the Green's. Caitlyn has twin girls that are exactly one year older than A & C so it was fun to get some advice and insight into what the year ahead may bring. It had been a while since we had seen them last so it was neat to see how they had changed and how much they had grown. They were adorable and so good about sharing their toys with the boys. Aiden and Chris were very busy checking out their tractor and dancing to the music that it made. We had a fun visit!
After naps we went for the boys 21 month physical/weigh in. Dziadzu was a great sport and accompaigned me to be my much needed second set of hands. Thank you Dziadz! It was a much dreaded appointment for fear of inadequate weight gain but for once, I was pleasantly surprised! They are still itty bitty peanuts but the pace of their gain is picking up so the Dr. was actually happy! This is a first in a SUPER LONG time! Both boys measured 33 inches (Although Chris is about 1 1/2 inch shorter). Chris weighed 20 pounds, 4 ounces and Aiden weighed 22 pounds. Both gained 1 1/2 pounds in 3 months which was an improvement from their previous gain of 1 pound in 3 months. Hip hip hooray! We'll take it - And the best part.... No blood draw for Chris.
So yes, we have SO much to be so thankful for this year. Two terrific little loves of our lives, Aiden and Chris; amazing family; fabulous friends; unbeatable support and unforgettable memories. So thank you one and all for being such a special part of our lives. We wish you and your families a wonderful Thanksgiving with lots of love, safe travels and of course good food! Happy shopping for anyone braving the black Friday sales! I'll be out and about!
