Chris (L) got Aiden (R) to join in the voyeuristic fun!
I wonder where Aiden went?
I was SO excited when I realized today that it was 4:30 pm and it was still light out! Yippee.. to me that is a sign that we are nearing warmer weather. To reinforce feeling better about the lovely sleet/ice/snow that mother nature brought us yesterday, I took a look at the calendar and noticed that we only have a week and a half left in January. Summer here we come! In case you can't tell, I would be perfectly happy going for Christmas to summer.. and repeat! In all seriousness, aside from the plowing bill, this has been an enjoyable winter. Mike gets stuck at home on snowy days and we have some forced family fun. What's not to love? We all LOVE our time when Daddy is home!
Since I posted on Monday I don't have much to tell. Tuesday was a wash out. Mike attempted to work from home but found it extremely challenging with two talkative toddlers. Speaking of talking, both A & C have a huge interest in trying to repeat most of what you say. Still no sentences but lots of attempted single words. I think the total word count is around 70 and yes I am counting and tracking, dork that I am :) I say attempted because "kitty" sounds like "titty," "snow" sometimes sounds like "no" and all of the "b" words are taking on many similarities. It's fun and so hard to imagine having to learn to talk from square one. What an amazing language we speak and we do it without even stopping to think twice. Well, okay, we all have those days where we have word finding difficulties. Some of us more than others... I am on the more end for sure!
Yesterday we were stuck inside all day because of the nasty weather. The boys had a hard time knowing that Daddy was home but working so we were glad when the working day was over. Trying to keep them quiet was near impossible. The day inside was fun but shoveling for Daddy this morning was no so fun!
Today Mammie Hopkins came over since either of us wanted to brave the weather yesterday. I headed out to do some shopping and Mammie enjoyed some playtime with the boys before their naps. I think the boys enjoy my shopping trips far more than I do since they are quick to jump into my grocery bags to see what goodies I may have snuck home.
We are excited to have Auntie Laura staying at our house tonight and around for a quick visit tomorrow morning. It will be great to catch up and so nice to have company in the morning. Here's to one of the few days this week without snow or wintry weather - Yeah!
