In the flurry of fun this weekend, it is so hard to believe that Easter has come and gone. What a weekend of fun and excitement. I know I sound like a broken record but we are so blessed to have two amazing families. I fully appreciate that few can say this and truly mean it.
Friday the boys and I headed to Bristol, CT with Grammie Pt and Uncle Dan to visit Babci (my grandmother) and Uncle Mike (my Uncle). The boys loved having company in the back seat for the car ride and as a result did great. It was surprisingly quiet but you won't ever hear me complaining about that! We had a fun visit and A & C kept themselves busy showing off with all of their new words, running circles around Babci's house (literally) and practicing their newly learned head stands. They especially loved playing Babci's piano. We headed home from naps and started our Easter baking and packing.
Saturday morning we were bummed to wake up to rain. If only we could make it rain candy like the old Skittles ad's in honor of Easter! With the rain and wet grounds, we decided that our church's Easter egg hunt wouldn't be too much fun but we were thrilled to join all of our friends from church at our friends Adam, Jenny & baby Hadley's house for lunch. Adam and Jenny were great sports opening up their house to a bunch of little ones on a rainy day but we all had so much fun and enjoyed catching up. We headed home for naps and last minute Easter prep. The naps were short lived as A & C knew that when they woke up we were headed to see Uncle Dan, Auntie Laura, GG Mimi, Grammie, Dziadzu. We had a delicious dinner and enjoyed catching up and getting ready for Easter morning together.
The boys were up with the sun this morning but surprisingly had to be reminded that the bunny had come for a visit. They eagerly ran downstairs to check out their baskets but were perfectly content sharing one. (I'm sure this won't last long!) The second basket was discovered later when they realized there was chocolate in it! After church, we headed outside for an egg hunt at Grammie & Dziadzu's. As you would guess, Aiden and Chris quickly learned what was inside the eggs and were filled to the brim with sugar in no time at all. They were cute as they were easily distracted while on their egg hunts. I guess we shouldn't plan on entering them into any speed related contests any time soon as the birds, the bee's and GG Mimi's ramp to her house are all too hard to say no to!
After naps at Grammie & Dziadzu's, we packed up and headed to Mamie & Grandpa Hopkins. We made it just as everyone was settling down to eat. A & C were quickly spoiled with treats and another special egg hunt. Grandpa was a great sport and had special hats for the occasion! The candy trend continued and we had two very happy, little sugar high boys! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and were so happy to see the entire extended family. The boys were little show boats and not shy to say the least. I think it's safe to assume that they think they are super stars or something! We headed home for bedtime and are so happy to have so many wonderful memories and fun pictures to look back on. Speaking of pictures, I have SO many. Please bear with me as I may continue to post them throughout the week. I have 335, I know…. A LOT…. So, I will share a preview now with more to come.
We hope everyone had an Easter weekend as wonderful as ours! Oxo
