Chuckles

Simple pleasure of the week:

This morning Chris and Aiden were playing Doctor. I spotted a small scrap on my hand and asked them how they would fit it as doctors. Chris replied "Get tape Momma." Aiden grabbed his "Bob-O" (Bob the Builder) hammer and went to work. I love how the minds of young ones work.

Yesterday morning while Mike and I were getting ready to head into work, the boys sat and watched us get dressed. In trying to keep them involved, entertained and out of trouble, I asked them what they wanted to be when they grew up. Aiden's response "A doggie." Chris's reply "A kitty." Silly, silly me – I should have guessed!

Our week in review:
We were thrilled to have Daddy <working minimally from> home on Monday. It was a great way to break back into our routine after Mommy and Daddy's weekend away. Aiden has been deciding to bless us with middle of the night visits since we returned from Maine. I guess that's a small price to pay for a relaxing, kid free weekend away. We were happy this new fad only last 3 days. 3 days too many! What a rainy week is has been! Monday Mike and I attempted our first family movie in bed. Our attempt failed miserably. I think the boys lasted about 10 minutes and mostly because they were busy eating popcorn. Maybe next time. We then moved on to a "Bob-O" project and finished putting up crown molding in our living room. We still have a great deal of touch up and patch work to do but it is up and looks great. How could it look bad when we had two wonderful helpers?!?

Yesterday was a work day. Mamie came for more A & C time, even after spending a long weekend with them! What a sport. They were a bit cranky and overtired but Mamie pulled out all of her tricks and kept them happy until I got home. She also kept us company on our 2 & 3 mo visit to the pediatricians. Do you still count age in months after 2 years old? Jeepers, that would make me 360 months old which actually makes me sound younger than 30, right? Anyways, it was a great visit and I was SO thankful to have Mamie there for an extra set of hands. A & C are both growing! Hipp hipp horray! Aiden is 35 inches, Chris 34. Aiden weighs 24 pounds and Chris 22 pounds, 4 ounces. This puts A in the 4th % for weight and Chris in the 1st %. We'll take it! I am SO pleased and so was the Dr. She was so happy that we don't have to go back for another 6 months instead of 3. Hooray! Smiles across the board of course.

In an attempt to make it through yet another rainy day inside, we were thrilled to have our friends Calvin, Ashley and a new buddy, Brayden, over to play. So fun! Calvin and the boys loved sharing hugs and they all seemed to enjoy themselves. What a great way to pass some time with friends. I had a good laugh tonight when Mike got home from work that I had to share. I was in the process of making dinner. Mike came in, headed toward the kitchen, put down his lunch bag and looked over at the sink (where I had started a few plants from seed in a plastic greenhouse type thing.) He quickly says "Yum, what are these delicious looking little things" Smirking and trying to hold back my laugher, I hesitate to reply as he was referring to my peat pots full of dirt and seeds. Maybe this is a sign that my cooking really is that bad!

Sorry, no new pictures today. This rain has kept me feeling anything but creative.
