Among my least favorite creatures are mice. I wish that I could say Cali was “paying her keep” but I think she may be hiding like I am, or realistically sleeping the night away in the basement.  Tonight we had a visitor and in Mike’s attempt to “catch” him, he is now on the loose.  Let’s just say it is safe to assume that I won’t be sleeping much until he is caught. I am getting the hint that this wasn’t meant to be my week.  My treadmill broke Tuesday, my coffee pot doesn’t want to cooperate, the cabinet under our sink flooded, I lost $20, we have a mouse in our house and I am about ready to call it a week. How can such a little creature be so heebie, jeebie?  Thankfully it is the Christmas season and we have so much excitement that it makes the days brighter anyways.

Speaking of brighter, Aiden and Chris’s room is taking on a new “glow” tonight as we set up a little fake tree in their room. They were so excited and so hard at work decorating.  I can’t wait to get our real tree and see their reaction then.  Tis the season!

We’ve had a great week and have been in LOVE with this unseasonable warmth. Makes me long to move down south to enjoy these temps with regularity. If only I could move my little world and everyone in it with me….

We started our week with a fun visit from Elliot, Emme, Oliver and Karen Ryan.  The boys had a blast playing, I LOVED my snuggles from Emme and would like to create a clone of her to keep myself and Oliver was such a sweet doll, sleeping the whole time.  Aiden and Chris were quite taken with baby Oliver who is 3 wks old and kept wanting to “take another peek.”  I can’t blame them as he is one little cutie pie! Monday night I was thrilled to meet Leeanne and Leora for a walk along the Ct river.  It was truly a perfect night to be enjoying 60 degree weather while catching up with a few of my favorite ladies.

Tuesday was off to work for Mike and I.  I enjoyed it! Aiden and Chris went to Mamie’s house for a bit and seemed to really enjoy their day.  We all came home and headed to work on our basement.  We are making progress and Mike has been hard at work.

We enjoyed another glorious day outside today and met our friends Ashley and Braiden at the park. It was a great break in the day for all of us and as we headed home we stopped at a gift shop and ran into our friends Annie, Charlotte and their Mommy, Erica.  What a small world.  It begins to feel more and more cozy as we see familiar faces when we are out and about in CT! With the exception of our mouse friend, we truly enjoyed our company today and look forward to a fun day with Ashley tomorrow!

In the meantime, please keep your fingers crossed that my “emergency” trip to CVS was worth while and that our little mouse friend finds himself in heaven by morning.
