We enjoyed a fantastic Thanksgiving break with a bit of a twist for our normal Thanksgiving traditions. Early Wednesday morning we pack up and headed to beautiful New Castle, NH to stay with the Hopkins, Tagliavini & Senf families for a mini get-away. New Castle was gorgeous and our hotel, or rather large condo that we stayed in, Wentworth by the Sea was a treat of all treats. Located just minutes from Portmouth, NH and right on the water, it was relaxing, peaceful and gorgeous. Are you sold yet? We had the time of our lives and loved spending so much time with our family. Part of me didn’t know what to do when Thanksgiving rolled around and I had no planning, no cooking, no nothing. It certainly takes some getting used to! We had all been under the weather and Aiden and Chris had a bit of an edge so it was a bit of a bummer since we weren’t feeling up to speed but our Thanksgiving meal was delicious and it was so much fun to just relax, explore and enjoy one another.
(Pictured above are some of the pictures from our trip including the amazing hotel and view!)
We headed home mid-morning Yesterday and stopped for a quick hello at Eric and Auntie Laura’s on our way. It feels good to be settled back home but we are all missing our luxurious suite and everyone’s company.
Today we headed to Grammie and Dziadzu’s for an Anniversary. Thanksgiving and birthday celebration. This week Grammie Pt celebrated her birthday on Thanksgiving day and Uncle Jerry and Great Grandma Tess celebrate theirs on Saturday. Happy, happy birthday everyone!
We had a blast visiting in Belchertown and got outside to enjoy the gorgeous weather. Has this been a nice stretch or what?
(Below are the guys out on our hike this afternoon and Grammie – she looks great, doesn’t she!?!)
My favorite quotes from the week were:
Aiden “Mommy is this your favorite book?” Me: “Yes, well one of them, do you like it too?” Aiden “Yeah but not as much as you!”
Aiden as we were going for a walk yesterday “I’m going to run to the water fountain but then I am going to be almost all out of running.”
Chris has been very into collecting goodies and filling up his pockets. He LOVES pockets! This week his hot items were “credit cards” (aka tags from clothes, sugar packets and non-dairy creamer packets), coffee stirrers, empty gum packets and my surprise tonight (that I found after doing the wash of course!) was a tea bag! Always keeping us on our toes. Thankfully it was only Mike’s clothes in with the tea bag. Just kidding, Mike!
We are so blessed and love this time of the year when we can celebrate all of the joys in our lives with those we hold dear. Happy Thanksgiving 2011!
