pearly white

Above (Pre-sick) – my little baking buddies and a preview of my little men growing up and ready for school.

I cannot begin to tell you how excited I was to go to the dentist yesterday morning for a cleaning and hear that I have nice teeth!  Really, that may be the first time I’ve heard before and possibly one of the best news I have heard in a long time. Of course, this coming after my other dentist appointment Monday morning with the oral surgeon (which would tell you otherwise about the nice teeth having a large procedure at age 30!) to work on my implant in 2 weeks.  The best news… NO cavities!!!  This is HUGE for me. The scary news, part 2 of my implant is in less than 2 weeks and I just signed my life away with a zillion releases…. literally.

So, great way to start the week and much better than a weekend of being sick.  What a surprise it was to wake up to snow yesterday.  Well before 7 am I heard little man voices as A & C opened their bedroom windows and discovered the white covering.  With excitement they squealed “Hey Mom, it snowed out my window. Hey Mom, come take a look.” Innocent and of course we had to venture out not just once but twice to enjoy the white fluff while it lasted.  In the process I discovered that I have two little master snowball makers.  Who knew…. They loved it and it killed some time which made me a happy Momma since we are on day 4 of being self quarantined.

Speaking of being quarantined, this flu thing is truly awful.  Poor Mamie and Grandpa both got our cooties and had a rough start to their week.  We feel awful and don’t want to take out any more victims if we can help it. So consider yourself warned…. stay away (phone calls and emails welcome though since its getting lonely)!

Being inside in the cold might be considered boring to some but I have a full day of entertainment.  Truly.  I have two of the best pretenders in the world.  This afternoon as I was trying to get some work done for Mike from home while Aiden and Chris delighted in play dough and suddenly they convinced themselves and somehow me that there were mice in the house and we needed to hide and be very, very quiet. Truthfully, it was kind of fun to play along. It can also be fun to make animals talk, dress up to be anyone you want and pick up any random item, pretending to read it, having it say just what you were hoping for.   Welcome to the world of Aiden and Chris and being almost 3.  Chris’s latest in proving a point or attempting to get what he wants starts when he picks up an item, lets say an animal that is mutual property of his and Aiden’s and perhaps something they have been fighting over.  The little stinker will find the tag, and pretend to read it saying something like this “this doggie belongs to Christopher and is not for Aiden.”  He then says “see, the animal says so, read it.” He’s a smarty that one and is good at giving us a run for our money.  Aiden on the other hand has become a bit sensitive lately and seems to have a surplus of tears at times.  I guess it’s a good thing I have a surplus of hugs to go along with those tears.  I come fully equipped at all times. I find that Aiden is SO much happier outside and seems to enjoy and thrive on fresh air much more than Chris. So it’s a good thing we have days like yesterday with sunshine and 40 degree temps to keep emotions in check and break up the frigid temps of winter.

On a brighter side, I forgot to mention last week that we welcomed a new baby.  I have a new cousin and Aiden and Chris have a new “second cousin.”  My Uncle Tom and Stephanie welcomed baby Max last Thursday night. Ahh babies. How we love and look forward to enjoying babies.  Especially when they can be borrowed and returned Smile  Congrats Uncle Tom and Steph.  We can’t wait to meet your little man and snuggle him like crazy!
