I am happy to say that Aiden’s first day of school/orientation was a success! We all survived Thursday and he went back for more on Friday morning. Tomorrow Aiden will begin fit first official half day of school. We will be leaving bright and early and will have our fingers and toes crossed for another successful day. He loves his teacher, Mrs. Jen and comes home all pumped up but seems to be nervous again by the time drop off comes. No tears but reluctance to go and refusal to get out of the car.
Chris’s start date got bumped up and while he has been a great sport dressing up and tagging along as we brought Aiden last week, he will get to meet his teacher, Miss Jackie for the very first time tomorrow. He is very excited and I think it helps that he has seen Aiden go these last few days.
Tomorrow will be my first day of back and forth. We will be leaving around 7:20 with Aiden, coming home for lunch and heading out around 1:20 with Chris. I will be so thankful once they are both settled and enjoying the same schedule.
Here are a few shots from their/Aiden’s “first day.”
After school on Thursday, Dziadzu stopped over to visit and drop off some goodies. The boys were thrilled to see him and look forward to his visit all day.
Friday Aiden enjoyed his second day of school and I enjoyed a cool walk as the sun was setting with my partner in crime, Leeanne. It was so nice to get some fresh air and exercise while catching up!
This weekend we enjoyed a visit at Grammie and Dziadzu’s with Auntie Laura, Uncle Eric, GG Mimi and my moms cousins Bev and Lud. The boys have been saying all week that they miss Grammies and Dziadzu’s and they ask when it will be another Dziadzu day. Mike went to Boston to help his family with some projects and went spent today catching up. We finally braved a canoe ride with the boys in tow. They have been asking all summer and the weather was ideal. We may have lost the canoe twice on our short ride to Sunrise Park but the boys enjoyed it none the less and even braved some swim time at the lake. They were troopers…. of course maybe I should mentioned that they were running on a sugar high all day. The woke up before Mike and I and managed to be quiet enough, pushing a chair to the kitchen counter, climbing up and helping themselves to candy and all sorts of goodies at 6:15. The breakfast of champions…..
