Strike one, Strike two, Strike three?

What a weekend to enjoy fall!  School couldn’t end soon enough for Aiden and Chris on Friday.  The anticipation of a sleep over at Grammie and Dziadzu’s and their first experience at the annual Belchertown Fair was giving them ants in their pants.  Their overnight bags were packed and they were looking out the window when Grammie arrived to pick them up Friday afternoon.  They were beyond excited and the weekend was more than they had hoped for!  They love being in Belchertown and miss their regular visits from the summer but this weekend was a special treat for all of us.  Mike and I took advantage of a free weekend to enjoy one another and couldn’t help but dig into some big fall cleaning projects.  What a great feeling!  Meanwhile, Aiden and Chris went to the parade and went to the fair, taking in all of the site, sounds and delicious goodies including a HUGE bag filled with parade goodies, fried dough, pizza and some fun fair rides.  After the fair they snuck in some apple picking and some play time.  What a weekend!  Thank you Grammie and Dziadzu!

Today Mamie and Grandpa celebrate their wedding anniversary so after church we snuck over to their house to leave them a little fall surprise! Happy, happy Anniversary Mamie and Grandpa!

After our surprise, we headed home for lunch then out with the intention to hike the trail behind our house.  The trail turned out to be what some may consider a think jungle.   Between the pickers, nettles, thick brush, it took me less than 10 minutes to suggest that we turn around and reroute.  Aiden was our “trail blazer” and didn’t seem bothered but it was far from perfect and certainly not my idea of fun.

After getting everyone to agree, we headed to the Windsor Locks Canal to “look” for fish and walk the path.  I’m not even sure we were a half mile out before poor Aiden feel face first while running onto the cement path, scrapping up his forehead and hands.  He was a trooper but that put enough of a damper in the mood that we headed for the car.

Our third and final successful attempt was the playground.  They were happy campers and Mike and I don’t complain when they are busy, happy little 3 year olds.  It was a fun fall day for all!

Thursday night I was lucky enough to meet the newest little member of the Locke family.  Mr. Jesse Kent is precious beyond words.  His perfect little everything melted my heart and I’m pretty sure I could have snuggled and starred at him for hours.  Welcome to the world little Jesse.  We can’t wait to watch you grow up!
