Charlotte has come and gone but the snow still remains…. and we my friends are on snow day #4! You know it’s bad when even your kids are saying that they miss school! The city of Hartford is having trouble removing all of the snow and apparently still has some roads that are too narrow to travel safely down. Fingers crossed that they are back up and running soon… as in no later than Friday. Why Friday? I have 8, yes 8 cantaloupes ready to cut up and bring into school for Aiden and Chris’s birthday celebrations. You may be asking yourself what kind of celebration cantaloupe is? I can’t blame you because I did the same! Because each class has 26-28 students, the teachers don’t want junk and sweets in the classrooms all year long. So, they ask that you bring in the birthday child’s favorite fruit and cantaloupe it is! If schools cancelled, I fear we’ll have to get ultra creative, ending up with cantaloupe muffins, shakes, salads, sandwiches.
Yesterday Mamie picked up Aiden and Chris mid-day and treated them to lunch. I snuck to my 30 week OB appointment solo. Such a nice treat. Little man is growing appropriately and this pregnancy is now as normal as they come. Such a nice feeling! Aiden and Chris enjoyed their Mamie time and per their normal, scattered Mamies entire house with boy times in no time at all.
Thank goodness for the break in the sunshine these past few days. We snuck out to enjoy some much needed fresh air today and the boys were in their glory. Snow, shovels, trucks and an hour killed! Score! (Aiden, L & Chris, R)
We has an awesome rescheduled birthday on Sunday! We were even luck enough to have a surprise visitor from sunny South Carolina, Aunt Martha! What a treat! Aiden and Chris had a blast and have been breaking in their new toys with this unscheduled week off from school. I am getting so excited for our special surprise for the boys this weekend. Mike and I have an exciting plan for Saturday, their actual birthday and let me just say that this surprise is killing them!!! Stay tuned as we share on Sunday!
