For as much as I despise the havoc that the time change has created in our night time routine {A & C have decided that they can’t fall asleep until its dark out…}, I do have to admit that Aiden and Chris’s personal conversations can be somewhat entertaining.  Tonight they spoke at length about babies and where they come from and how Mommy will have to go to the “hopispal” to “get hers.”  They are wise beyond their years and I can’t help but think that these conversations may help them work through things together.  I know personally, when I get in bed and I love nothing more than reviewing my day and week ahead with Mike.  He may not always be game but I can at least talk it out myself and feel better before trying to relax.  Maybe I should be blaming myself for my two little night owls who see sleep as a novelty.

As I mentioned, we’ve had a busy week.  Yesterday I was thrilled to get out for a walk with my friend Leeanne just before the snow storm settled in.  It was ideal.  The weather was brisk but comfortable and being able to enjoy a walk before being cooped up inside today was awesome.  Of course add to that some good company and good conversation and it’s my kind of night!  I spent my remaining free time yesterday afternoon and evening trying to stay on top of work for Northeast Brokerage.  Aiden and Chris are good about allowing me to sneak in a work email here or there but there is never enough time during the day to get it all done.

Today we woke up to a winter wonderland.  Happy almost Spring, right?  Hartford public schools had a two hour delay so I made the executive decision that our 1 hr + commute was not worth the one hour of school.  Snow day it was!  Aiden and Chris had their four year old check up’s this afternoon so it worked out ideal to have a relaxing morning.  The roads were nasty when we he headed out and the appointment took over an hour and a half.  I was shocked…. For two healthy boys, there certainly is a long check list of questions for an annual exam.  They both received two shots and poor Chris had to have a finger prick done because the machine stopped working right after Aiden has his turn.  They were troopers and I am happy to say that they are both growing!!!! Aiden is now 32.4 pounds and 39 inches.  That puts him in the 19th% for height, 17% for weight and 28% for BMI!  Chris is a whopping 30.8 pounds and 38 1/2 inches. He’s in the 12% for height, 7% for weight, 16th% for BMI. He is small but mighty and both boys have gained 5 pounds since their 3 year check up! We’re gaining grounds….. They did great for their hearing and vision screenings despite Chris losing interest in the vision screening near the end {when asked what picture he was looking at, he said “ahh, I’m not really sure about this anymore.}  Thankfully the nurse was forgiving and said he did well enough with the other tests to be okay.  It was a happy check up all around.

Tomorrow we are headed back to school and are excited to have our friends the Locke’s over for an afternoon play date.  What a treat mid-week!

Happy almost Hump Day!

Great growing boys!!! The time change has messed us up too. I really wish we didn't have daylight savings anymore.
