You would think that I was killing my family slowly and painfully with the moans, groans and whining that came before dragging my family out for a two mile walk through town today. Painful I tell you but the fresh air was welcome none the less and once we were out, we all enjoyed it. The boys brought some trucks for the journey and loved playing in the center of town. The exercise, sunshine and warmth are most welcome. We came home refreshed and ready to spend more time outside! There’s something amazing about deep patches of snow on a 50 degree day.
We’ve been busy trying to sneak in as many play dates and fun things as we can before our little man makes his arrival. The snow put a bit of a damper in our plans this week but gave us a relaxing PJ day at home on Friday. Thursday we enjoyed catching up with our friends Mathieu and Caroline as they joined us for some play time. It’s been a while since we’ve visited and the boys picked up where they had left off which is always nice to see. I had a long overdue hair cut scheduled last week that was cancelled but I was thrilled to be able to sneak it in this coming week. We also had a pasta supper at the boys school that was postponed due to the snow but we’re hopeful that we’ll make the next one. You have to love the random 5 inches of snow in the beginning of March just when it’s starting to feel like spring!
We also enjoyed a busy weekend with a trip to Lowes with Mommy Saturday morning…. Little did we know that our builders would bump into one of their best buddies Jack! It was a super fun surprise to look up and see Jack and his Mommy at the Monster Truck Workshop that we were at! It was a success despite Chris’s little dilemma as to why this Monster Mutt’s tail was on the truck’s front bumper… Humm… This Momma messed up but after a quick fix and an easily replaced nail, we were well on our way to happiness once again. Look at these faces. They were beaming!
We also enjoyed a trip to Amherst and a visit with our friends the Schillings. My boys adore their girls and the Schilling girls are always so attentive and good with A & C. We made our first trip to the dinosaur museum at Amherst College and enjoyed some super fun time in the sun at their local playground. After lots of laugher and running around, we had two tired little men who left longing for more…. the best sign of an awesome visit!
This morning we had church and nursery duty and came home to soak up the sun. I cleaned my car which was beyond necessary and took over an hour. Probably one of those things that I shouldn’t admit :) We are now ready to rock and roll with the boys new car seat {necessary to fit a our newest addition sandwiched in between} and a clean, vacuumed car… sure to last about 24 hours.
This week ahead is jam packed and looking sunny and bright. I can’t wait! 34 weeks and counting my friends. It was my 34th week that Aiden and Chris made their grand appearance so with each passing day, I am more and more excited about the prospect of a “normal” pregnancy and delivery. Off to a few Dr.’s appointments this week so I’ll keep you posted!
